How do you feel your '14-15 Grizzlies stack up against those '04 Pistons? If they run through that same gauntlet Detroit did, are they NBA champions? (Bucks, Nets, Pacers, Lakers) Or do you feel the Piston's defense and offense was on a whole other level?

This is the Memphis team that won 55 games but had Conley get his face broken in that portland series.

04 pistons were groomed from the hood ball era where you could wear jewels and timbs to press conferences. That was whole different level of heart and aggression, pistons would hurt them boys.

Kinda how the warriors ran into a Cleveland that was decimated by injuries And Lebron was by himself and still took em to 6 games. Wonder what would've happened if cavs was at full strength :skip:

Since we talkin ifs, if Rasheed didn't leave horry open for a 3 these wack pistons you speak of would've won back to back titles :jbhmm:
Well given that the dubs got hit by injury and we saw that Kevin love hurt the cavaliers more than he helped them in 2016 your argument loses credibility.

That would be a difficult matchup for the Grizz, I gotta admit. Posting up Zach and Marc against two of the better post defenders ever in the Wallace boys? Put Tayshaun against Conley, hide Rip on Tony Allen, and Billups on Courtney lee, who doesn't shoot much. Then add in Ben's shot blocking, and it'd be a struggle. Defensively, even if you hid Zach on Ben Wallace, Sheed was a stretch 4, and Marc doesn't like guarding out on the perimeter. And it also leaves Zach as the last line of defense. The Grizz had better perimeter defenders, and better post play, but Detroit was better at everything else, including IQ and coach, even though I'm no Larry brown fan. Pistons in 5.

Do I think we could run that gauntlet? Yes, though I think we lose along the way. The Pistons ran a motion offense with better shooting. They guarded the 3 ball, whereas we've been average in that area. They had no holes in that defense.
