Wait, so if people have information on who killed the kid, you're not allowed to say anything because it's snitching? So it's better the killer continues to roam the streets rather than inform authorities?

I was always under the impression that snitching was when you're apart of the crime and tell on your partners for some sort of benefit. Or if you're ratting out a friend, a family member or loved one for the same reason.

The illogical extremes people take this whole snitching thing blows my mind. If it isn't your family, loved ones, friends or allies I don't understand why you'd try and protect a murderer of all people when you're not involved.
