Hands down my favorite boxer of all time. This is just terrible news man. Growing up in Manhattan in the early 90’s, I would watch a teenage Max Kellerman host a public access show just to hear him talk about Sweet Pea. Max talked about that today actually, and as soon as I heard the news I knew he would be mentioning Pernell and that show...brought back a lot of memories of my childhood.

The overall skill level was ...but his defense in particular was just ..such a gifted fighter gone way too soon.
