It's cause they basically abandoned the city.
A bit of background: I grew up poor. So, I lived all around LA, from Compton, the Westside, and we finally settled in Inglewood, where I went to high school. After I graduated, we moved to that Avalon location (where PNB got shot) where we only stayed for about a year and a half, until we couldn't afford it, and my mom moved to Watts.
At this time, I was entering college, so I didn't live with my mom anymore, and moved closer to my school. But when I found out where my moms was moving to in Watts, breh, me and her got into a legit shouting match, and I've never yelled at my mom before. The house was nice, but nikka, it was smack dab on Grape street. The area is run down, and not to far from a housing project, where hoes stand on the street.
My mom is hood af, so she always think she straight, but I always worry, you know?
I got 4 younger brothers breh-- they didn't need to grow up in that environment.
but like I said, we was broke.She eventually moved back to the Wood, and I haven't been back to Watts in forever, but my last memories of Watts was the streets being terrible to drive on. The city don't give a fukk.

Exactly, you live in a dangerous neighborhood ten minutes from a well known death trap, and you only been robbed once in your life
