I agree 100%. I've also come to understand that a lot of people - even the people who received the racist disrespect - don't want to stop liking their "favorites" because they don't want to ruin their fond or childhood memories of that person.
So they make excuses "oh, it's just the way he grew up" "he was a product of his time" but he's not a "bad person".
It's no secret that a lot of our favorites wrestlers (especially from the South) were probably racist AF. But for me there's a difference between suspecting someone of being racist, and a confirmed or self-admitted racist.
Sabu was a confirmed and self admitted racist. I can't rock with that, but to each their own.
