I don't think its Justin Timberlake at all,I think its the fact both Usher and Chris Browns last albums that were heavily NOT rnb flopped from what I remember and a lot of they core fans ain't like that shyt, the albums prior to that were....especially Chris B who had "deuces",no bs""look at me now" came back from the dead with those joints and then wanna make that pop bullshyt on his next album:childplease:....that black female fanbase is probaly the most underappreciated,id be focused on nuthin but makin anthems for them if I wuz a rnb nikka:pachaha:...not neccesarily simp shyt but shyt they love sales, proof is proof...when beyonce has the black women anthems that happen to crossover she sales more.

Breezy's last album had a lot of R&B, his urban singles flopped and his dance/techno ones got spin, it was half-assed on both sides and overall it just wasn't a commercial success. Now Usher's album, that was recycle bin material except for 3 tracks

Frank Ocean and Miguel don't dance or make dance records like Usher, Chris Brown

Justin Timberlake was sent to the cross and died for our R&B sins

Chris brown CD had 2 techno songs

And the techno single did better then the "R&B" singles

One thing I miss is good r&b artists/groups who could actually sing, put out a great album with great ballads, amazing production, memorable love songs and those who never felt the need to sell out or have a rapper on their records to sell.

I was highly dissapointed in Usher, Chris Brown and NeYo in particular with their recent albums.

yall bugging, like i said in another thread, JT dropped Justified and Cry Me a River was everywhere, Ush came with Confessions, Ush didn't really answer FS/LS the best cuz dude was caught out there, but he's honestly the OG dude in the R&B game right now (Kellz is done being that dude - he still wears the crown tho)...I believe Ush can still drop some heat, so could Ne-Yo. I'm anticipating this. And JD was pretty quiet before he had Mariah back on top, JD has one of the best R&B teams under him with Johnta, Bryan Michael Cox, etc. Again, I'm waiting

:mjpls: that new ne-yo was mind-numbingly shytty and i used to be a big fan

his music is all bushes status now

Edit: Johnta Austin is a problem tho, if thats who you talkin bout. ep is straight :whew:

That's why I doubt these dudes will do anything special with r&b... they're doing r&b but nobody cares & even tho their techno crap charts its steering people away from the albums...

They're in a tough situation... :whew:

LOL, yea man. Year of The Gentleman was the last Ne-Yo album to get spins from me, I think Libra Scale is somewhere in my iTunes. This dude went from that three album run of :lawd: to :scusthov: real quick, but he's a talented writer so hopefully he gets back to business.

i think that further adds fuel to the "white privilege" argument, white boys can make r&b and black & white alike eat it up. black person makes r&b - it sells to black folk, they make techno and white folks be like :usure: :mjpls:

white musicians have a leg up :yeshrug:

I didn't say it wuz Techno I said it wuznt RNB,but maybe my definition of what rnb is is different than a lot of peoples....I don't consider everything NON techno rnb either....your performance vocally, the beat all determine that....a lot of shyt I've heard from Frank Ocean,Weekend AIN'T rnb.....sound like sum wannabe Phil Collins shyt, get that souless shyt outta here callin it rnb....black nikka singing don't automatically make it rnb,all I know is I heard CB last album and thought :scusthov: majority of the time listenin to it...maybe I'm stuck in mays of how I expect rnb to sound but u can tell when sumbodys aimin for an outside audience and not just fans of rnb...two singles I remember wuz She ain't u and Please Don't judge Me.....from what I remember She Ain't U I would consider rnb/pop.....but that Please Don't jUdge Me do u consider that rnb out of curiosity?:usure:
