Mr. Stubblefield was the drumline for some of the most important tracks in all of music. Songs like Coldsweat and Funky drummer. His drums were the basis for NY York hip-hop. The foundation of my musical experience always. May he Rest in Power. Transition from the Earthly realm to the divine. His music will always last forever.

Old Gawd requiescat in potestatem. :wow:

Just saw the news on NPR, heard some of his funky drums and dear Lord. Thank you Maestro Stubberfield for your contribution to the culture and God welcome your soul into paradise.

The foundation of black music is leaving at a rapid rate.

I'm getting sickened by it all. I'm getting my sons heavy into making music, so they've been raised on JB as their foundation. One plays the piano, the other the drums. time to put together a studio in the basement for them. We need to get back to making our own sound and watch black creativity again flourish.

Late again, but much respect due to Clyde Stubberfield.

Wouldn't be far off from describing him as the father of modern music.
