It's not about being trash. It's about having a glaring weakness that's especially detrimental as a guard that you're too egotistical to address and not making use of your strengths enough to offset it (5 FTA per as a 6'10" guard). He's not a franchise player.

As much as I like Joel, hes a ticking time bomb with his injuries. There is absolutely no way I'm giving up Simmons in a trade. They've worked together on the court before, it can happen again.

If anything they should bring in a new voice for the team. A good to great coach and GM would have nothing but shooters in the lineup at all times and would stagger their minutes so they would each have time to shine individually. Instead of signing Horford and Harris they should have passed on Al and kept JJ and got another shooter or two. A lineup of someone like Ben JJ Embid Harris and let's just say that got Bogdanovc instead of him going to Utah. They could then bring Josh Richardson and then theoretically someone like Seth Curry off the bench. Instead they have no spacing whatsoever in the starting lineup and hopefully Burks and Robinson will help some.

It’s Horford breh. Ben and Joel have been apart of top ten lineups in the NBA before. For the Horford fit to work he would’ve needed to shoot between 37-40 pct from three and it’s not happening.

people keep running with the “you can’t play Embiid and Simmons” together hot take but you can, just need to put the right pieces around them and the Sixers are currently a terribly constructed team.

Short term solution would be to start Korkmaz and bring Horford off the bench but it seems like Brown or Brand think they’re paying Al too much money to have him be a bench player

Sixers were a friendly rim away from the Finals last year. They shouldn’t have traded their shooters. It probably doesn’t matter at this point which of the 2 guys they trade since that window is closed unless injuries happen.

All of this could be avoided if Simmons would at least try and shoot 3’s/jumpers. At some point, the organization or his teammates are going to have to take off the kid gloves and keep it real with Simmons as he either doesn’t seem to be listening or doesn’t care at all to what people are saying.

The quicker he tries, the faster they can figure out whether this shyt will work or not.

I have a hard time believing that NOBODY in the organization has kept it real with him about the shooting shyt, he probably just doesn't give a fukk. I'm 99.9% sure Jimmy Butler said the shyt to him at some point during their tenure together. I can't imagine everyone on the squad/organization is just afraid to tell him that shyt.

I know they won’t/can’t do it, but I’d start benching him until he at least starts trying on a consistent basis.
