They'd be better off trading Simmons.

Embiid is one of the last of the dying breed of true big men. He is very skilled as well. The only knock I have on him is that he has some durability issues.

With all that said I still think he has considerably more upside than Simmons.

Trade Simmons for a quality wing that can score and get a few shooters, and they might have a shot to win the East. Simmons can't hit a jumpshot consistently to save his life.

Truth is it's very unlikely to happen because Embiid has little to no leverage here. He's not on an expiring deal so He cant say he wont resign with whoever the Sixers send him to. Riley has worked miracles before but this is a long long shot
