when he talked about how psychology was at the root of racialist theory, it reminded me of what franz fanon wrote about his study of psychology before he began practicing. he encountered difficulty finding literature that wasn’t tainted by a eurocentric - and, thus, anti-other (black) - perspective.

the whole video basically creates a straw man and attacks psychology in its infancy 100 yrs ago ; and assumes that describes psychology in 2024. There is no logical connection between those two things given how much every field of science has changed from its infancy in those eras. Note that he has infinite citations of stuff in 1800s or 1900s but absolutely nothing recent from the last 20 years. It would be the equivalent of me saying "dentisitst are barbaric, so you shouldnt trust one to clean your teeth or for a root canal in 2024", but all my examples to prove this point are from 1910 when dentists used pliers to pull teeth out and casually gave cocaine to patients.
He isnt qualified to have this discussion.
Idealy you would listen to someone who has actually gotten their MD in psychiatry or a professional degree in social work/behavioral psyche/clinical psyche , etc . It doesnt even have to be a white person , neither does it have to be a person working wthin the industry, just a learned one. For example, Dr. Amos Wilson laid the bedrock for modern Hoteps, but was himself a behavioral psychologist who could cite numerous current studies that were applicable to his points.

Didn't watch the video but he isn't completely wrong. All the phony IQ science comes from the field of psychology called psychometrics, which is still going strong. There's also a newer branch called behavioral genetics that is kind of suspect.
