Shaq went to LA for the same reasons. He had a loaded team with Penny, Horace Grant, and a bunch of shooters and they had already made a Finals. And he left for a Lakers team whose best player was Nick van Exel. That didn't mean he was quitting.

That was different tho, obviously since it’s LeBron joining the Lakers that means he gave up on basketball and is just gonna make movies now.

Yup, he just felt like playing NBA basketball while on unofficial retirement in Hollywood. Smh, nikkaz hilarious on here...:pachaha:

Philly is similar to what MJ had, but MJ didn't have a Golden State to overcome. He also had a strong organization backing him and a squad of guys who stayed almost perfectly healthy for the whole run.

Philly's organization is still kind of a mess, Embiid, Fultz, and to a lesser degree Simmons have real injury questions, and he has to hope that everything on Phily goes perfect to even have a chance at beating Golden State. If Fultz doesn't pan out, or Embiid gets hurt, or they don't trade for another complementary star, or Simmons never develops a jumper, or the GM situation is never fixed, or the coach gets exposed in the playoffs....then the basketball reasons fall apart.

I was openly rooting for LeBron to go to Philly. But I understand why he didn't. Philly only had one reward, and a very narrow path to that reward. In the Lakers, LeBron knows that he has a capable organization that is a real free agent destination and so there are multiple paths to things working out, and he also knows that even if basketball reasons don't work out, 90% of the rest of his life isn't going to be basketball and he has a ton of W's he can pick up in LA on those other fronts.

Ofc Jordan had easier teams to face in the finals
30 points on 42% shooting was enough to win Chips for Jordan in 6 games
35 points on 56% shooting is getting Lebron Swept

I don't get that free agent destination shyt with LA and Lebron. I have seen 0 players say the want to play with Lebron and all the players from that 2019 class say they don't want to. Only 5 players can help lebron and in that class
KD- I don't even think the league will allow it and I doubt KD would want to help LBJ legacy. If anything he wanna have more rings in the time period where lebron has been crowned as the goat.
Klay- A chance but he's not enough to really move the needle. Klay is just a more mobile K Love. Love provided the same 3pt shooting attack Klay provides with WAY more rebounding.
Kawhi- He's not leaving 80m on the table to go play with Lebron. Woj reported he had the Clippers as his #1 choice
Butler- He just gave his list and lakers weren't on it. Woj said Butler liked the lakers until Lebron got arrived
Kyrie- I can bet my life savings Kyrie ain't coming

Nobody else in that class can help Lebron. Nobody wants to be the media #1 blame target when you lose.

Lebron aint go to la to win titles.

Playing for the lakers is money to subsidize his outside activities

He could have gotten that same money from any other team who had space to sign him. Do people think before posting?
