I wasn't crazy about this. AMC also fukked up. they started the movie 5 minutes early with NO trailers. I came in 8 min after showtime. and there were people that came 10-15 min after me. AMC usually has 22-28 min of previews.(plus the kidman and coca cola ads)

I saw another movie in a different theater later in the day and caught the 12 min i missed and then bounced.

it was beautiful to look at, though a bit dark at times like everything post 2016. i wasn't crazy about skarsgaards performance. depp was good, though i still wish Anya Taylor-Joy hadn't dropped out(for an apple TV+ movie no less).

so beautiful to look at. a bit gross. some sex but not sure i'll revisit it much. i prefer coppola's film to be honest.
This was my personal biggest takeaway. I loved the acting and constant sense of dread following these characters and also appreciated him tying in the plague to Orlok's arrival in England. But at the end of the day, I just feel like the 92 version is more entertaining and worthy of another re-watch sometime soon.

But I'll be damned if we aren't living in maybe the greatest renaissance period ever for the horror genre and this director is personally tied to that. I feel like the genre started turning the corner when The Witch premiered.

Eggers the Roc Marciano of this shyt :obama:

Watched it twice.

Once in IMAX and once in Laser 4K Ultra.

If you didn’t see this in IMAX, you missed the fukk out.

It’s a vastly superior experience.

Didnt see it in imax but i can only imagine how it looked cause it was a beautifully flick. I loved the scenery especially when they went to his castle. The whole movie u felt hopeless but thank god orlock was only focused on his snowbunny and not destroying the world

Move was great.

Slow burn first act then ramps up heavy in act 2 and 3. Cinematography was fascinating. Depp and Davoe stood out the most. Orlok by Skarsgard was very good as well but I'm not the biggest fan of him looking like Jim Carey in Sonic tho lol.

Ending was one of the best I've seen in horror with the mix of love, hope, and dread intertwined :wow:

8/10.

I mean, as of right now they're still being made. I still buy them sometimes if they're films I know I will watch again.

Corporations want to stop making physical media because its more profitable to just have everybody use digital services, but that process will probably take at least 5-10 years. You could also see a resurgence similar to what happened with Vinyl in recent years. I think gamers prefer having a physical disc too. Its hard to guess.
