Yeah, was definitely deceiving if you're not familiar with Eggers. I enjoyed the northman but I still stand by the statement that Alexander Skarsgaard is a horrible actor; which is surprising considering the family he is from--really brought the movie down probably an entire point.

Focus played up The Northman’s action to appeal to the general audience. A24 tends to do the same. Didn’t bother me that much though because I never headed into the theater expecting straight up action from someone like Eggers, especially coming off of The Lighthouse. His stuff has always been meditative at the core.

Saw this trailer before alien Romulus, it looks incredible!! I loved the witch but was a little disappointed with the Northman, but this looks so fire, I think it’s better that eggers has source material to go off of

This should be a return to form after The Northman.

In hindsight it wasn't that bad but it didn't have depth like his first 2 films.
