I can always hear so much KA influence in Roc's flow and rhyme scheme's now. He's been better ever since he ran with that style.

ALC's one of my favorite producer's of the past 20 years, but people need to chill with the Primo disrespect. Premier is the GOAT. Way too many classics under his belt for the sh*t talking.

I get what people are saying about Al spreading himself too thin lately. But if anyone was going to be on this kind of run with this level of output, I'd want it to be him. With that said, this project is the first in a minute that didn't have anything on it beat-wise that I really went crazy for. It's good, but it's a step down from the other sh*t he's done with dudes over the past few years.

Ehh…I think Alc has made some brilliant beats, but I also think too much of his catalog is an acquired taste to consider him GOAT.

I think Al has an argument based on consistency, but I do think that there's a bunch of producers who, in their primes, are far superior to Alc.

Rza, Havoc, Dre etc.

for the last 6/7 years i been saying he floating there abouts but his output since 2010 onwards has confirmed it for me.

Mans are bringing up Primo and im sorry but that dude has been releasing mid tier boom bap beats for decades now.

If you heard that Primo was producing a whole project for anyone at this stage its just like .... hmmm, id rather alc do it. His album with MC Eiht was super underwhelming. His beat for that new Nas joint was mid too.

Al can make 1 million beats and his highs will never top Primo's. Longevity is great but that doesn't put you over the top.

Madlib isn't as active but he has Madvillainy and Bandana which are better than any album Al produced.

He's top 10 easily but consistency isn't everything. Dilla died ages ago and no one's come close to his talent or innovation.

Smh @ the primo disrespect in here. Al is in my personal top 10 but he’s barely at 10. I can’t put him above rza, primo muggs or havoc since they laid the foundation for his sound. The influence of madlib and dilla are the reason where he’s at now sonically. Who are his contemporaries?? Kanye and just blaze???? If anything he might just be the primo of the millennials generation

Alchemist seriously in my top five. This man been on a run like no other and just getting keeps getting better. Roc is always that nikka and the godfather and the reason why nikkas like Griselda are now thriving.
Can't stop listening to Liquid Coke, JJ Flash, Zig Zag Zig, and Trillion Cut. I been so use to listening to Roc with no drums I was literally shocked when he started rappin on them on this album.

This is definitely an emcee’s album. I was at the 20 year Justus League reunion / Little Brother show last night and the entire double digit crew was talking about how it was what they were bumping and how inspiring it was.

The praise for Roc’s pen game was unanimous. Sold out show. Lots of heads in the audience talking about the album before and after the show too.

Show was insane. So much love in the building. Lotta cats I haven't seen in 10-15 years, and I don't think the entire J League has shared the stage since 2002.

The show was for Pooh's new album. Pooh did some joints and then one at a time brought everyone on stage. Comanche, EA Floe, Sean Boog, Joe Scudda, Chaundon, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Median, and then Phonte. Phonte rapped an acapella and they went into Lovin' It and the crowd went crazy.

12 out of the 16 members were there, and all the rappers were there. 9th Wonder wasn't there though, and neither was Khrysis, DJ Flash, Eccentric, Yorel. I honestly expected to see less people than I did.

son isn't all that different lyrically. He just doesn't rap/spit anymore compared to previously. This board is mad inconsistent in regards to which emcees get held accountable.

Now a lot of that is masked when he gets down on some beats with some definitive drums, compared to those around midnight/bluenote specials he's usually on now. One reason why I couldn't get into this particular project entirely like that. Too eclectic doesn't always = fire.

I can argee with that as far as a rappers rapper pedigree wise, and Im glad you mentioned this because it helps prove my point that coli opinion isnt always facts across the field. There are a few emcees that get disclaimers/and similar on here that deserve that same defense Roc receives though.
