I threw this on in the whip, on my way home last night. After 2 years since it's release, I can honestly say it's been my personal favorite album within the last 5 years. From the lyrics to production, this album just hit all cylinders. Now since we are officially in the fall, this is the perfect time to revisit this album.

album is crazy, still prefer Marcberg though..Marcberg is like his Illmatic and Reloaded is like his It Was Written

The one comparison that I can draw is that just like "It Was Written", "Reloaded" makes the previous album sound dated. I find it hard to really enjoy both at the same time. At first I was disappointed by "Reloaded", just like how many people were disappointed by "It Was Written". But now that I've embraced the feel of "Reloaded", and I have a hard time going back to the more traditional sounding "Marcberg". "Illmatic" sounded dated in a good way, because it was supposed to give you that "this is my life leading up to this point" type of feel. I'm not sure I will feel the same way about "Marcberg", because the album already sounded like it could have been released 15 years earlier.
I don't know maybe I'm just rambling, but I see the two sets of albums conflicting similarly. Same thing with Cube & Brand Nubian's first two albums. They conflict with each other to some degree.

yeah man thats exactly why I made the comparison. Also in terms of the rapping, Marcberg is some rugged shyt while on Reloaded he's on some fly shyt. Marcberg is more cohensive, Reloaded has those high/low points like It Was Written, its more experimental musically

To be honest I was slightly disappointed upon first listen of Reloaded. I'm a huge Roc fan but I just felt like Reloaded didn't have a strong pace to it like Marcberg did (still thought it was dope).

Then I smartened up and actually put comparisons aside and took it in. It gradually got better and better each listen.
