Reloaded is a great album; I like it more than Marcberg. Him and Ka are :wow:

Ka shows you can do it all yourself. Dude wrote, produced everything by himself. Even personally sends out his own CDs :wow:

10 years ago today "Reloaded" was released, it came with some expectation and momentum, after the release of "Marcberg" 2 years prior, an album I would say was packed full of Boom Bap atmosphere and a breath of fresh air, when it came to the gritty resurgence of Mafioso Hip-Hop, the album didn't invent or reinvent but more so just ran back over the ground of that old, familiar and raw sub genre of Mafioso Hip-Hop we loved back in the day without sounding out of place or artificial, "Marcberg" served as a rough around the edges and welcome arrival for a niche crowd of People into that sound in Hip-Hop, back in 2010, it did the rounds on many Hip-Hop forums.

On "Reloaded" Roc Marciano, finesses his production skills, which he handles the bulk of himself, his wordplay and rapping comes even sharper, the beats just blend in and serve as a soulful and orchestral backdrop for Roc to do his thing, once you get to grips with his style as an MC, you understand fully why he does the majority of his own beats and why they are so fitting for him to stamp his personality on the tracks, his flow is smooth but by no means commanding in tone but he brings you in with his charisma, he merges simplicity on the mic in with originality and super quotable lyrics, hes as much nasty and carefree as he is engaging and unique, he comes off as a natural when it comes to his confidence and bravado all over the lyrics, the pen game seems effortless and like it just comes to him and flows through him, the way he goes from song to song, on the albums opener "Tek to a Mack" he basically comes with the double meaning that his approach with this album, will be an upgraded him with sharper tools, he opens saying hes back for the crown but on the 2nd verse also tells the listener, he loves the art of Hip-Hop but knows its a business, where he feels his pen should have him being rewarded, you only got to listen to the song "The Man" to understand this is winners music, on the first verse he spits "I turn my pain into power
Back in the days put the flame to the powder, My lady waited on the counter with a towel, While I sang a Rick James banger in the shower.." and follows that on with some humorous and playalistic lyrics, for all the comedy and feel good tracks in the track list, he also has dark and serious tracks, he delivers in a vulnerable but cold way on the mic, like on the chilling

"Death Parade" where you feel like you just got transported into the inner thoughts of a mob boss, disgusted by situations, certain groups of society, with some gnarly lyricism such as "Hoes sniff lines off broken mirrors" and threatening violence on his rivals but he balances that out near the end of the track with a funny like "Sip pina coladas with a mean goddess" , its trademark Roc Marciano, he is able to translate his stresses and pain and turn it into power and soften the serious tones, he gets back on the feel good and smooth tip with the track "Deeper" where he gets on his Big Daddy Kane shyt on the first verse when he says "Eight ball corner pocket, my hustle: can't knock it", and asks the listener on the hook what they know about that pimp shyt, comparing his current woman to Ginger in the movie Casino, one of my favorite lines on this whole album comes on "Emeralds" where he spits on the 2nd verse "You just a pawn on the chessboard, I move pieces, On squares like Louis sneakers" that is so nasty to me, 76" is the production in the album, where it comes off the most cinematic, he gets nostalgic and reflective on that one, this whole album sounds like a Movie and gives me vivid images in my head at times, the majority of the songs sound straight out of a blaxploitation or Gangster movie, just off the atmosphere of the production alone but he carries this album with that flow and his personality, "Reloaded" is as much "Willie Dynamite" as it is "The Godfather 2" lol
what I would say tho this album grew wings even more with time and influenced quite a number of MC's who would come later but still this is not for everybody, this ain't traditional Boom Bap production, with hard drums and a super energetic MC but for me Roc Marciano is a very fun MC who's talent with the pen sometimes gets overlooked and seen as one dimensional, I'm a fan of Roc Marciano and will continue to be.
