What do you mean? Jay-Z doesn't have to partner with the NFL, it's as simple as that. You act like there's no other ways for him to do business besides partnering with people he just 8 months ago was trying to flex on with the Travis Scott shyt. Repping for Kap but now is being their clean up guy after boycotting him? He doesn't have to do it idk why you acting like there's no other way.

Breh I see your point

My question is

What would you do if the NFL came to you with this deal

Would you say ok but I need this

I need real programs aiming at change

With a contract and movement behind them

Or you shut them down

What would you deem good for both party’s

That’s all I’m asking

I'd give the same answer I told Travis Scott to give the NFL.

If you think real programs are gonna come out of this or Hov is gonna inject some black conciousness into the NFL's marketing and Super Bowl concerts, you're crazy

From a management company perspective it's a huge win. You can tell artists we can leverage the NFL's platform and brand to expand their careers. For a small/startup company that's huge.

I don't really read into the social stuff too much. Owners don't care. If anything that's Roc Nation trying to manage any heat they may get it.

Definitely has a sell-out element to it, but this is par for the course for Jay-Z. Let’s also not pretend this is about social reform. It was included as an “oh yeah, I forgot” part of the deal to appease people who would rightly criticize this agreement. At the end of the day, Jay-Z isn’t a revolutionary and doesn’t have to be. I just wish they would stop promoting him as such. Capitalism is legal and encouraged; embrace that.

This is clearly about music licensing and performances, both of which will bring in money to Roc Nation.

This is social justice reform in the NFL in 2019. “Here, you guys can even pick who you want for the Super Bowl halftime show. Are we even now? Make sure there’s no cursing or sagging pants though. Slap me 5, brother! :skip:

believe the NFL owners are gonna let Jay-Z decide their stances on social issues brehs :laff:
It would actually be a perfect way for the NFL owners to avoid scandal. Let that all be Jay-z's fault right or wrong. all they would have to do is step in when ever it affects the bottomline on some he doesn't represent our views type of juelzing. If i was an owner i'd be all for it.

:russ: Some of y’all refuse to believe Jigs is just a pawn used to influence the weak-minded.

Oh, but I guess Jay getting Santigold to perform at halftime is big moves, right?

Pawns don’t own masters :sas2:

Bottom Line.... half the cats that say this is a bad look for Hov probably pay for the NFL Sunday Ticket
I don’t disagree, but the major issue is that Jay-Z promoted himself as an opponent of the NFL and a supporter of Kaepernick (who also is waiting to get back into the league, also sell-out like). The whole telling Travis not to do the Super Bowl seems underhanded in retrospect.

4:44 was about black ownership and being anti-establishment, which I knew was a rebranding effort, but most people literally bought into it. I have no issue with Jay-Z or his moves, but it’s time to drop the revolutionary charade.

You have guys like Byron Allen who sues cac cable companies and buys channels for $300M. Then you have Hov who’s a pro black 50 year old billionaire yet to this day most of his deals are partnerships as the black guy for cac corporations. Y’all love to deflect as if Hov announcing a non profit for prison reform with Kraft and basically just using that to do an NFL deal is something to support
