He questioned a VJ during an interview in like a year or two since MTV had been airing why they didn't show much (or maybe any; not sure of exact wording) black talent. The VJ said cause MTV is a Rock station & some shyt like that -and tried to move on with the interview but Bowie pushed for an answer. Lemme see if I ck find a quote or something.

This has fukked me up this morning. Not only because he was one of the best to ever do it, but because he also just released a damn good album last week. He is right there in the news then bam, dead. Unbelievable.
I'm glad he left us with Blackstar as a parting gift. One of the best albums released by a near 70 year old man that I can think of.
