It’s a lot deeper than that, and you are the exact type of person he is talking about that exacerbates the issue
Ok. Sure. I’m a cynic. If you calling out an issue then believe part of the solution is for me to invest in your property/entity then excuse me for not falling for that banana in the tailpipe. I ain’t volunteering to be a sucka. That’s how Umar been tricking y’all nikkas for a decade plus now.

00:00:00 - 01:00:00

In the "Roland Master Class on Tubi" YouTube video, Roland Martin discusses the historical treatment of Black-owned media by Fox Broadcasting and its impact on the present day with Tubi's focus on Black content. Martin raises concerns about Fox's past business practices, such as ending shows like "In Living Color" to secure the NFL rights and launch Fox News, and its recent acquisition of Tubi. He urges viewers to be aware of these past practices and the importance of investing in Black-owned media platforms to avoid exploitation. The discussion also covers the manipulation and disparities in news and information on social media platforms, the financial disparities faced by Black-owned media in the advertising industry, and the collective power of Black organizations to uplift and support Black-owned media. Martin emphasizes the need for investment and resources to ensure the survival and growth of Black-owned media

In the YouTube video titled "Roland Martin on Tubi, Black-owned media funding, and consumer power," the host emphasizes the need for fair advertising allocations for Black-owned media and challenges corporations to invest $10 million in his platform until November. Martin argues that this funding would enable town halls and city broadcasts, which other mainstream media channels also utilize. He highlights the importance of equitable advertising budgets for industries like automotive and pharmaceuticals, believing that increased funding for Black-owned media results in a more diverse range of programming, ultimately creating a more inclusive media landscape. The speaker also stresses that Black audiences drive significant revenue for largely white media companies but often face discrimination and lack of support. They encourage viewers to invest in Black-owned media and use their consumption power to hold companies accountable for proper representation and funding of Black voices and stories

F**k those people and that’s standing on business. The most popular, black content on Tubi is the same ish they’ll have their noses in the air about.

The thing about this is that you then have “black leaders” who say blk folks ain’t got no money, no wealth ie yvette Carnell and tone talks.

Many other groups see black folks wealth

Median black family in Boston has a networth of $8.

Median black family in Miami has a networth of $11.

Median black family in the U.S has a networth of $3700.

But yeah, Yvette and Tone are exaggerating about the lack of wealth in ADOS America.

Yeah he went in. I’m glad he did it too because it needed to be said. Tubi gives these unknown movie makers a platform though so I don’t know what would or could happen to get them out of here, plus it’s a free platform that relies of ads. Man we got to get a positive platform that black folks will support and throw money behind. I mean the black news channel was here and it was not a bad start, but it did not get much support. Putting it on regular cable might’ve helped

Let’s say “disposable income”. Like Roland said… companies are spending ad dollars—cadillac, Hyundai, Ford, Disney etc … for black viewers… money is being spent and money is being made somewhere.

Fox owning Tubi was never a secret.

There’s plenty of positive black content on Tubi, along with educational content. If you only want to watch ratchet movies, then they have that for you as well. You can also find those types of movies on Peacock, Prime, and other platforms.

Tubi gives black creators the most dollars for their content and offer a low barrier of entry (for better or worse). No other platform is paying black folks like that for their content. Hell they don’t even let black people put their content up for free.

Roland is upset that his independent platform isn’t receiving the same amount of attention and investment, and he has a valid point in all honesty. However, discouraging black folks from supporting black creators on Tubi is not the solution.

If he was smart, he would try and get a deal to get his daily show on Tubi.

Once they buy you out they make changed little by little.
They do this all the time

To the flabbyheads remember when Fox had a ton of Black peoples shows? Remember WB aka We Black? UPN aka you peoples network?

They all made money on cutting rate content and dropped it when they went mainstream
