How do you know he was jealous?

Like it was said, RZA offered to produce, Rae declined, no other Wu producers on the whole album, instead Rae tried to run w/ Infinite Architecz ([however you misspell it]who were dope), Tryflin (who was average) and Vo & Pop (who were god awful). You're going to deny the person responsible for making your last album one of the universally considered best produced album of all time a chance to even crack the lineup? That move comes from seeing everything written up on the album talking about production & Ghost and act like Rae himself is background noise, so he goes out of his way to exclude them & prove what he can do dolo. It's been alluded to more or less as such in later interviews.

Rae's last album "Shaolin vs Wutang" was utter trash outside of like 3 songs......

His career is based on Cuban Linx -which Rza created and Cuban Linx 2 which followed that same formula.

Outside of Rza's blueprint Rae has never made a project that anyone outside of himself respect.

He tried to go against the grain with Immobilarity. Go against Rza's lead and not even go to him for the project and it failed and he was in limbo with everything else he did until Cuban Linx 2.

It's like folks have such selective memory.

And I hate that they can't hash it out privately.

All this may be true, but what do you do when the guy who draws up the blueprint is off his game?

You can't tell me RZA ain't been putting out garbage for a minute. The fact that Raekwon's been putting out some trash too doesn't negate that fact.

I might not be able to hit my jumpshot, but I damn sure know when you missed yours.

Rae's right. They need new producers. The time of that one producer per album is kinda over. Especially when the guy is as off as RZA is. He's in Hollywood where all the people around him are telling him he's a genius.

Thing is, and Rae even says this too, RZA probably can still do it. He's just got a different focus right now but if someone reigns him in or puts him in a certain lane, then he can probably knock out some of what Rae's looking for production-wise. The unfortunate thing with this album, and it was the same w/ 8D, is RZA's approaching it as how he's produce a RZA album rather than a Wu joint.

The only way to truly satisfy the fans and Rae is if Rza can get 4th Disciple and others to go dig out the old hard drives and discs or whatever from the 90's and make beat tapes again and agree on which dusty old Wu unused joints they can rock.

:patrice:

Might not be a bad idea.

Or go left totally and get joints from Premo, Madlib, Just Blaze, Pete Rock and others......

Rae is absolutely right... The problem is he really ain't the one to executive produce the album either... So its clear he sees the problem but he doesn't know how to solve it.

Realistically they need to let ghostface pick the beats, and they need to let rza direct the album while Rae drives the album narrative, the rest of the dudes need to just come with A game verses and flows... That would probably be as close as u can get to a dope 2014 wutang formula

Raekwon been putting out trash? YEAH RIGHT. He's been on fire since 2009. Bodying everything, floating on drake beats, dropping quality albums and tapes, catching prominent features on the new gen albums of note.

Rae is 100% on point in this situation. I guess you guys want a Wu album under the watchful eye that gave the world U Gods keynote speaker and the man with the iron fists huff.

rza's problem is that he cant sample. he's too damn big, anything he touches they gonna run his pockets. Wu tang too damn big to do another project, they sound best over sampled production. anybody they get who sampled would get they spot blown up. they need to just do a 20th anniversary tour instead of a fukkin album

as far as rae. linx 2 was cool, but he bores me on guest spots. that nikka be feeling himself to much.

Keep Watch is a good song, not a classic or anything but solid.

Nah, don't do that. That album was motivated by pure ego after people gave all the credit to RZA & Ghost for Cuban Linx being dope he went out of his way to make an album without either of them on it.

:deadrose: my man said nah, don't do that.

Anyway, RZA can do what he used to do, problem is, he doesn't want to. I feel him when he said that doing what he used to do wouldn't be real and would come from a fake place but Rae is right, you can't try to change the sound of the group and you can't come with some bs. RZA rules the group like a dictator and that worked for a good period of time but that's when he was knee deep in the game and he's clearly not anymore; he doesn't have to be. But for the rest of the clan, he's either gotta get back to doing what he does best or just bring in some other cats and let them do it

RZA has the budget to sample and then pay professional musicians to replay the sample flip...And then flipping what the professionals played...

I always tell myself if I was big like RZA, Dr Dre and em, that's what I would do...I will flip a sample, and then get professionals to perform my sample flip, and I won't have to worry about clearing samples...
