TYRONE GA!
I think the game is marketed different compared to that era, so today's players are much more inundated with back of the jersey first mentality.

It really took off during the Costas soliloquies about MJ as "Michael vs (random team)_____" was the opening act for much of the 90s.

NBC sucked MJ off way too hard when they had the rights. It was beyond ridiculous at times.

Does he understand rthat Kyrie just doesnt like lebron?

I think this is absolutely true. Lebron has that organization by the balls. If Bron says jump, it's how high. Even down to Gilbert. Kyrie tired of that shyt. Everyone is subservient to Bron. Thing is, if Bron bounces, he'd be the guy again in Cleveland but with a team that will be comprised of players built to compliment Bron. How long would it take them to build a competent team around Kyrie's talent?

Glad Harp been saying my point about the back of the jersey mentality of the NBA.

Sounds like it's beyond the fans and has seeped into the players.

smh...

The difference is when it was winning time Harp himself would be shocked if he got to touch the ball. To try to compare the dynamics of basketball and any other sport would be a mistake. Star players define organizations.

To play devil's advocate .......if Lebron stayed completely silent

what would be the outcome :ehh:

Sometimes I wonder if ya'all live in some sort of different reality or shyt.

Kyrie was top-5 in jersey sales in the ENTIRE NBA. #2 in shoe sales. #2 in the All-Star vote. Got HUGE shine from the masses all summer last year, some people going so far as to call him the best closer in the game or the real Finals MVP.

And you're saying a championship did nothing for him? :gucci:

Ya'all talk like you're Skip Bayless sometimes, saying whatever ignorant hot take percolates up into your brain in the moment. :skip:
It clearly did nothing for his perception on the court. Gabe him more visibility cause people see him playing more, but clearly people don't consider him any better than he was 3 years ago. All the comments speak volumes. I guarantee if I looked through your Kyrie comments from this past month you were just talking slander

everyone knows i hate kove but kyrie is nowhere near kobe kobe play defense and not a brittle bytch
It's not even about him being Kobe. Completely separate situations. In Jones situation shaq wasn't about to leave in free agency and there were people in the organization who thought Kobe was more integral to the team than shaq. In Kyrie's situation LeBron is on his way out, won't commit to staying, and there front office clearly treats Kyrie like an accessory

Wait, so the championship was a huge boost to his jersey sales, putting him in the top 5 :ehh:

a huge boost to his shoe sales, putting him in the top 2:ehh:

a huge boost to his All-star votes, putting him in the top 2:ehh:

but your evidence that the championship literally "did nothing for him" is....

some people still say mean things about him on the internet. :bryan:

I have a secret to share with you.

No matter where he goes, there are still going to be people saying mean things about him on the internet. :yeshrug:[/quote]

The championship did nothing to change his perception has a player. I will agree it gave him more visibility. But the perception of him as a player didn't do a thing. His legacy is still the same. Keep juelz sanatanaing but you know I'm right. Just go back and look at your own quotes about him and tell me if you consider him a better player since he's become a champion :stopitslime:.

Edited: and Kyrie was already top 10 in Jersey sales before LeBron went to Cleveland on that bum ads squad and a small ads market so stop acting like LeBron put this dude on the map. Likje he ewasnt an all-star before LeBron returned too:stopitslime:

Of course my perception of him as a player improved from how well he played when they won the ring. :what:

Kyrie played FANTASTIC in the 2016 Finals. It was by far his best playoff series ever. He made by far his biggest playoff shot ever. I gave him plenty of shine for that and he definitely showed something at the highest level that he'd never shown before.

How does the fact that I consider him a bit below the top tier of NBA players discount that he showed out in the 2016 championship run more than he ever had before?

You're saying all this shyt about what the championship didn't do for him, but your ONLY evidence is that some people say mean things about him on the internet.

And legit, what is the WORST thing I said about him in the last month? Ya'all make a mountain out of a molehill. :sas1::sas2:

Who ever said that Lebron put him on the map? :beli:

I said the CHAMPIONSHIP improved his public perception in every measurable way:

Jersey sales:

2014 before Lebron came: 9th
2015 for first season with Lebron: 6th
2016 during championship run: 4th

All-star vote:

2014: 5th
2015: 4th
2016: 5th
2017: 2nd

NBA GM Survey

2015 preseason: no votes for anything (CP3, Westbrook, TP, Curry, Conley, Lilliard, and Rose all got best PG votes)
2016 preseason: no votes for anything (CP3, Curry, Westbrook, Conley all got best PG votes)
2017 preseason: Two votes for best PG in the NBA (behind only CP3, Curry, and Westbrook), also votes for fastest with the ball, and who you want shooting with the game on the line

What's your evidence that the title did "nothing for him"? Other than that some people said mean things still on the internet. :pachaha:
