Im pretty sure he not racist
He has published numerous racist articles in his own newsletter under his own name, defended the newsletters in public, was happy to associate with many openly racist figures, and has a history of putting out shyt like that cartoon above. Not to mention that he came out against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Yeah, Ron Paul Is Racist After All, Sorry

Maybe he used to be a racist, but I don't think he is anymore
People were victims of news, I was the same at one point when 911 happenened

When both Obama and Ron Paul were running for president people were calling him a racist.
I was like ya don't vote for ron paul the racist vote for obama the guy that bombs brown people everyday.

I made a thread on this very question once before
I just tried looking for the thread but couldn't find it
it went something like "does it matter if a president is racist once he becomes a mass murderer".
Like if he had countless innocent civilian blood on his hands does it really matter if we added racist or not to that?

Everyone on this site cares about racism, but specifically if the racism is against someone in the united states
Everybody here is absolutely fine with perpetual war/occupation.
Ron Paul wanted to end the wars, just like Tulsi did and as you know I supported her too.
Meanwhile people called him a racist and voted for war/murder of brown people, and Obama did many horrible things in Africa, like in somalia.

In any case, I don't think he is a racist, perhaps he was long ago.

Do you think the being tied to the author of racist newsletters from long ago is worse than mass civilian casualties?
Words vs mass murder? Which do you chose?

Just two posts ago you adamantly opposed any suggestion of his racism with "I'm pretty sure he's not racist."

When presented with clear cut evidence of him proudly peddling racist propaganda, you pivoted to (paraphrasing here) "He's 80, a staffer must have posted that, he's too old and out of touch to know how to use twitter."

Then when the levees broke on the flood of his history of racist works it was "well, that was a long time ago, he's not racist anymore. He's changed."

(Because of course while old racist white men can't ever learn the nuances of such advanced space age technology of say typing on a keyboard, if it's one thing old people are known for, it's changing their world views of society once they hit their late 60s and early 70s.)

And finally you hit the home stride with the quoted post, settling on the conclusion of "it doesn't matter if he was racist, he was against war."

I good sir, salute you, for your noble ability to disregard any information whatsoever that may counter your previously held positions, defend the indefensible, and juelz with such fervor that would make Mr. Santanna himself hit you with a :rudy::stopitslime::gucci:.

Well played my man. Well played. :salute:

man i'm not in the mood for this, you misquoted me all accross the board, it's too early for misquotes man wtfff
holy shyt man.....

defend the indefensible? Yeah I always do, check my post history in HL, it's usually about presidents dropping bombs on the indefensible.

And when I spoke about how it might not matter so much if someone is racist i am talking about presidents not being labelled a racist but dropping bombs on brown people on the daily.
I said that because I don't think he is a racist but YOU ALL DO, so okay, keep thinking he racist but..... consider the topic of mass murder.
ok go away now, i should not respond to misquotes like that

1. Paraphrasing and misquoting are not synonyms.

2. I was pointing out the absurdity of you staunchly defending a racist by using everything but the kitchen sink to do so. It wasn't even about Ron Paul's racism, moreso about you refusing to even give a whiff of a second evaluation once it was crystal clear your QUOTED statement of "I'm pretty sure he's not racist" didn't past the smell test.

3. You only pivoted to Paul's stance on war after it became obvious you were wrong about his stance on race. Moving the goal posts doesn't change anything about what you said earlier or your failure to acknowledge anything to the contrary.

You said I said he's probably not a racist and then I changed my stance and said ya that tweet was probably a staffer when the latter supports the former, there's no change in stance.

Everything in the kitchen sink in one post???? Must be a small ass sink.

Wait, I pivoted to his stance on war and moved goal posts IN THE SAME POST???????
I don't think you know how it works, you can't move goalposts in the same post.
That's just 2 things part of the argument, hellooo

Also his stance on war was my very first post in this thread FYI see below link, so there was no pivot or moving of goalpost. Again wrong!
https://www.thecoli.com/posts/39241162/

In any case, FYI most of the things you said are things I don't really care anyhow.
My entire post was mostly about foreign policy, I don't think you got that.

You're all over the place now so let me clear this up for good.

I never said you changed your position on him being a racist. AND THAT'S THE POINT. If someone shows you evidence contrary to what you believe, you reevaluate your position on it. It's reasonable to double down when your beliefs are questioned, but it's not at all reasonable to ignore any and everything counter to those beliefs, especially if those counter arguments are backed with very strong evidence disputing your own.

I don't know where you got the suggestion that you moving the goal post all occurred in one post. :what: You posted 3 separate times, with your initial one being "I'm pretty sure he's not a racist.", followed by a separate post dismissing his racism because apparently he's too old to know how to be a racist online :deadrose:, and concluding with a diatribe in a separate post about how being a racist doesn't matter because he's against foreign wars. How or why you somehow took that pretty simple to follow chain of events into thinking I said it all happened in one post is pretty strange. Especially since even if it did, what difference would it have made?

You still moved the goalpost either way from Ron ain't racist, to racism is ok anyway if you're against wars......so it doesn't matter if he is racist, but he's not anyway, so whatever.

You still don't get it!!
1) If someone shows evidence? What's the evidence? Links to newsletters? He wasn't the author, but the newsletters came from his staff yes however he wasn't the author.
2) So I don't think he was a racist, however I am open to the possiblity he was, but I am pretty sure he is not anymore.

OMG look the what I quoted you above and replied on.
You think i'm all over the place but i'm not, it's your perception that's wrong.
Where did I get the impression that I moved goalposts in one post? Because that's what you quoted dummy.
I can hold all 3 views in harmony FYI
ok im done here

Are some of you anti-racist or anti-republican?

Because you all will run to this thread to call Ron Paul a racist but then you gonna go cape for:
Joe Biden didn’t just compromise with segregationists. He fought for their cause in schools, experts say.

:cape:

I once thought that when the anti-war movement disapeared when obama took office maybe the anti-war movement was never an anti-war movement but an anti-republican one.
Is it the same for racism with some of ya'll?

And??

So what? What is this supposed to prove?

Is taking smiling pictures with white supremacists supposed to be some measuring stick of a person's personal views on race?

Besides, he was clearly young and stupid in that pic. Who among us hasn't did something they regret now that they've matured?

He saw the error of his ways and changed his position after he grew up a few hours later, what's the problem?
