I'm surprise at the amount of people I know that lost someone there, my WA status its full of people lamenting the loss of a friend and aunt a cousin, etc, one of my mom's best friend lost a nephew.

For a tragedy there was a lot of people there but at the end of the day it was like 300 - 400 on a country of over 10 million people so kind of crazy.

Also a lot of politicians and billionaires lost someone there so hopefully this will be the beginning of creating and more importantly enforcing a real building code that includes yearly checkups and an immediate checkup of all these businesses that have heavy ass air contidioning units and water tanks in their roofs.

I saw a comment that said it could have been the weight of the light fixtures, along with the music vibrations booming throughout the building, after weeks/months it took its toll on the roof. Roof just couldn't hold it anymore, roof was already weak but this didn't help. Death toll now over 100, smh.

I'm sure it was a major factor, if not the main factor.

Those two pieces in the middle of the floor are heavy.

Years ago I had bought a 42 inch flat-screen for my living room. I didn't mount it and I didn't have a regular entertainment center table so I put it on top of an entry way table (foyer table) that had a glass top and put it against the wall. I thought it actually looked nice since the table matched my other tables.......

Until I was in the shower and I heard the whole thing (the table) shatter and collapse.

:francis:

So yeah.... the weight and vibrations unfortunately very likely shook that building apart due to using incorrect materials.

RIP to those that passed.
