What is more messed up is that he was the nicest dude and a genuine person one of the most grounded and Humble local "celebrities" most Dominican singer/ performers have that Diva like behavior not him though. I chopped it up with him a few times when I was hooping for the national team he would help out people like for example players who's family couldn't cover certain expenses. He even payed for one of my teammate's Mama's physical therapy when she had an accident. And there are tons of stories more like that guy who's life he saved on the highway, he went out of his way to stop and help.
