As a Fields fan from day 1, who has watched most of his snaps this year, the bears coaching and line aren’t helping him at all but he still shouldn’t be playing this poorly. It’s really disheartening to watch. I’m just hoping he can get it together from here. But it’s been bad. The fumbles more than the INTs are what worry me. My biggest concern about fields since he was at UGA is his pocket awareness. He’s gonna fumble 2 times a week with that line

The truth is no QB can succeed in Nagy's system (and I'm using that word very loosely because no one knows what Nagy's system actually is).

Just look at the other QB's before Fields. He's an abysmal coach and he's not invested in making it work with Justin Fields since day 1.

Nagy is the one constant here and has wasted a Superbowl caliber defense in his tenure at the Bears.

Fields has shown me flashes, he's done certain things on the field that have caught the eye. Under a good coach, he has the potential to be one of the best QB's in the game.

That's happened too many times. Like nikka, if there's nothing down the field and the rush is on your ass, start running.

It's like he hasn't adjusted to the NFL speed and thinks he can evade these dudes but it's not working... and then boom SACK

I've said this before, he's an elite 7v7 QB who had the talent to be elite in the NFL but he's not a good QB yet. I feel sad he's in this situation. Even WAS did more for Haskins than CHI is doing for Fields. The player I've always taken a mental note and compared him to is Kurt Warner. I saw a young Kurt in NFLE and he used to lock into his first guy often and he didn't have a good feel for the pocket as well but his accuracy was top notch and he could slang it. The pre-snap and things like that, Kurt had to improve on and did to a degree. He landed in a great situation and became a star. Fields can play day 1 but you gotta use him exclusively for boots, playactions, in shotgun with quick reads, nothing long developing that's not a boot. Nagy using him and Dalton like they are Matt Ryan. Dalton can do below average that way but Fields is food this way. Fields can slang it but Chicago is about to Tim Crouch him. Another slanger who needed to be heavily protected. Fields has no ability to pre-snap, he doesn't have a feel for the pocket, he needs to be protected via playcalling.

Great QBs cook Bama. Cam, Watson, Kyler. Those guys took over against Bama whether they won or lost. I know he was hurt but Bama game had me worried.

As I've told you before he just doesnt have that feel for the game like Deshaun Watson did. Even with this trash offense I have a hard time believing rookie year Watson would be this bad.

I think he'll get over this. But my first reaction is he just needed another year of seasoning and he'd be ready to go.

Burrow improving his pocket awareness from JR year to SR year was huge.

Come back win the Heisman/NC and Fields awareness, confidence, swagger would have been another level.
