Brandon Roy :leostare:

Roy didn't tear his ACL

Willis McGahee can run for 1200+ yards 3 times after tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL, but NBA players careers are done after an ACL tear. Jamal Crawford tore his ACL more than 10 years ago.

the reason you take Westbrook is simple...most players in the NBA dont have his killer instinct..shyts rare, I'd say the only star in the league with his mentality are Kobe, Rondo, Paul Pierce, and CP3

"He's a dog," Kobe told reporters. "He's going to fight to win, and not too many teams can deal with him.

"Chris Paul is really the only other guy in the league, other than Derrick Rose, who has also that competitive edge," he continued.

Kobe said it. So you have to start a thread in support

Rose (Defense '10/11 - best of the last two seasons/due to this season being a sample size e.g. Off-screen - 0.36 PPP):

Overall - 0.77 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.61 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.73 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.80 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.92 PPP allowed

Westbrook (Defense '11/12 - best of the last two seasons):

Overall - 0.88 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.83 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.85 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.98 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.99 PPP allowed

"Rose has allowed just 0.77 points per possession overall on defense this season, an elite mark for any defender, regardless of position. Chris Paul (0.86 points per possession allowed), Rajon Rondo (0.83 PPP allowed), and Russell Westbrook (0.92 PPP allowed) –- all excellent defenders -– have been trumped statistically this year, and by no slim margin. Rose has each of those players handily beat, and boasts a shockingly comprehensive defensive profile. Rose is particularly effective in defending isolation sequences, where he allows just 0.61 points per possession."

Rose had more blocks than Lebron last season + 1st overall blocks for a PG (21 more than 2nd place) + 2nd overall perimeter blocks for a guard (3rd overall blocks).

Said statistics are certainly not the be-all and end-all to thee argument, as it doesn't weigh in eye-tests; team-defense/help-defense influence; opponent-matchups; weight of offensive-load; defensive-intangibles - but it gives you a general perspective of where they both sit, in terms of defensive ability/efficiency.

Bottom line - Westbrook isn't a much better defender and it's certainly not crazy to think Rose is the better defender in any way, shape or form.

I had to dap and throw you rep for this post.

If people watched the Bulls play on a regular basis, they would know that Rose's defense is great. It's only the casual nikkas who only peep a few Bulls games a year who throw around the shyt about him being an average/below average defender.

He doesn't have the steal numbers, but pre-injury, no PG was getting by this man on ISO, and if they did, he was contesting the shot or blocking it.

He would have looked even better if he didn't have to spend so much time playing with Boozer also. Imagine if he had Ibaka behind him to clean up is miscues...

Not going to lie are haters going to hate but Rose would of found out a way to win yesterdays game especially if he's paired up with KD and Harden.

You're comparing a power forward, to Rose, who's game is mostly built on speed. You can't be serious.

Marlo went from saying ACL tears are a career ender to comparing Rose to guys like Roy, who didn't tear his ACL, and Webber, someone that had microfracture surgery.

what about willis magahee who just came off of a 1,000 yard rushing season at 30 years old?

what about ed reed who is still the best safety in the nfl and had one of the best seasons of his career last year coming off of major knee surgery?

lets not forget about this man right here constantly shytting on the jets defense after his knee surgery:
