I said before that 70-80% of folk in the coli can't read the game adequately, when in reality it's probably closer to 90%.

:wow:

I think the point he really missing is how russ is defending wade can rose defend wade the entire game and remain efficient on offense?

If the Bulls had another alpha scorer alongside Rose, then he could defend Wade if they needed him to do so.

Honestly, there was no reason for the Bulls to play him on Wade considering Ronnie Brewer and BoGawd were locking his ass up all series

This is powerful posting! Russy is giving Wade fits, like legit stressing him on defense. That shyt is shocking as hell too, I thought Wade would be able to just muscle Russy, but it's just not happening.

Sidenote: NOBODY can stay in front of Russy in this series and that goes for Lebron too. He is eating nikkas food off the dribble!

Real question: you think Russy or Rose faster? I honestly can't tell :dwillhuh:

Does Wade need to be guarded this year? He looked decent on the defensive end this game but he's been pretty damn bad for 2 rounds.

Assuming D.wade ever gets back to his normal, neither Rose or Westbrook can guard him.

He was good against the pacers and doubled against boston so yes he needs to be guarded stop making excuses.

i was comparing rose and brook

I was too. You can't be vehemently calling one player better than the next when the latter player is performing considerably better against the team that shut the former player down.

How is that an excuse? Wade hasn't been able to score effectively on Derek Fisher. Yeah he looked close to normal in 3 games against the pacers, but he's killed far better defensive teams than the Thunder, and far better defenders than westbrook. The way he's playing now, Derek Rose on one leg could guard him.

Westbrook is damn near unguardable going to the rim because even if you're on his hip, the dude elevates so fukkin fast that you have no chance... it's not even that he jumps higher than people, he jumps quicker than them... shyt is amazing to watch

IMO, the only thing Rose does better than Westbrook is finish around the basket, he's more controlled in the air... but aside from that, Westbrook is basically better at everything else
:pachaha:

Yeah Russ went off but your pg scoring 43 pts ain't good. That means once they inbound the ball he ain't passing sh1t. :lolbron: Russ had more made shots than Durant had attempted. Just because you can score 40+ pts doesn't mean you have to. You have to be efficient. If he has a 28/13/5 type game they could win easily. As a pg he has to do more than just score.

:whoo:

you are entitled to your opinion but in no shape of form is rose a better defender or shooter than westbrook stop it. until rose guards the top 2 sg in the league and put the team on his back i think its extremely close

Of course not. Westbrook is a much better defender than Rose. Of course Rose stans won't agree tho.

Westbrook ain't better then rose but y'all crazy if you think rose is a better defender

Rose (Defense '10/11 - best of the last two seasons/due to this season being a sample size e.g. Off-screen - 0.36 PPP):

Overall - 0.77 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.61 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.73 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.80 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.92 PPP allowed

Westbrook (Defense '11/12 - best of the last two seasons):

Overall - 0.88 PPP allowed
Isolation - 0.83 PPP allowed
P&R Ball Handler - 0.85 PPP allowed
Off-screen - 0.98 PPP allowed
Spot up - 0.99 PPP allowed

"Rose has allowed just 0.77 points per possession overall on defense this season, an elite mark for any defender, regardless of position. Chris Paul (0.86 points per possession allowed), Rajon Rondo (0.83 PPP allowed), and Russell Westbrook (0.92 PPP allowed) –- all excellent defenders -– have been trumped statistically this year, and by no slim margin. Rose has each of those players handily beat, and boasts a shockingly comprehensive defensive profile. Rose is particularly effective in defending isolation sequences, where he allows just 0.61 points per possession."

Rose had more blocks than Lebron last season + 1st overall blocks for a PG (21 more than 2nd place) + 2nd overall perimeter blocks for a guard (3rd overall blocks).

Said statistics are certainly not the be-all and end-all to thee argument, as it doesn't weigh in eye-tests; team-defense/help-defense influence; opponent-matchups; weight of offensive-load; defensive-intangibles - but it gives you a general perspective of where they both sit, in terms of defensive ability/efficiency.

Bottom line - Westbrook isn't a much better defender and it's certainly not crazy to think Rose is the better defender in any way, shape or form.
