hip-hop is currently at its lowest state. theres been no spec of evolution over the past decade or so.

Ross isn't gonna be on most top 3 list on any year. Maybe 2010, but that's it. Rakim is gonna get a 5 every year from 1987-1992

Yeah I don't see any year where Ross would be a top 3 MC, personally. He's skilled but he's not THAT kinda skilled.

I think to make it work you have to do a top 10 from each year, because guys who were never the best but were very good for like 10-15 years, will be hurt.

But in 94, everyone (not just in NYC) was fiending for Snoop. It wasn't til after Ready to Die dropped that Biggie captured attention like that and even then Big's audience was concentrated in the Tri-State area, Pac's was more widespread. Like Cormega said "BIG ran NY, Pac ran America. Keep in mind Ready to Die and Me Against the World went platinum within 2 months of each other 1995 despite Ready To Die coming out 6 months before MATW. In 95, Pac went platinum quicker than BIG did.
