@FreshAIG
This cornball really thinks he can dictate what we do in OUR culture:rudy:
His system is flawed as hell.
It doesn't hold the same weight being the best in this watered down era of rap
as it was in the Golden Era.

Like Jordan being the best in an era flooded with legends holds a lot more weight
compared to this era.
It meant more being the best BACK THEN than it does RIGHT NOW

We don't need guests to dictate how we curate our OWN culture :camby:

I was sorta with you until this part. You're just stuck in the nostalgia of when you grew up.

Jordan played in one of the weaker eras of recent history. Today's era is MUCH more difficult to win in.

On top of that he's implying that Pac isn't technical enough. It's clear that he hasn't heard any Pac music beyond his greatest hits compilation or some other shyt.

Rakim being the best MC from 1987-1992?! Laughable.

How is that laughable?

People like what they like...and people for different tastes. This ranking sh*t is getting old...

you know how it is: pretend-hip hop fans always wanna get in the club. Take something hip hop heads discussed years ago and beat it to death. "top 5", "classic", "goat" etc. :russell:

Cool, let's agree to disagree on that part since that wasn't even my point.

Strictly rap related, the Golden Era was WAYYYY better than this era. That's a FACT

You had Nas, Big, Jay, Pac, Cube, The Wu, LL, Canibus, Mobb Deep, etc all dropping classics

Who do we have now that's putting it down on that level they did.

It ain't no comparison in being the best in this watered down era as it was back then since the level of competition was a lot higher back then.

So with that being said, Rosenberg's logic is flawed

This is a silly system. If you're going to add points like this then you're going to need another system in place to account for the level of competition. Otherwise the comparisons from different eras are way out of wack.

If you applied it to something like boxing, then that Klitschko dude is the goat heavyweight, better than Ali, Fraizer, etc because he dominated a dead division for like 10 years.

It's way more impressive to be a top 3 MC from 94-97 than to be a top 3 MC from...say 2008-2011 but this system weighs then equally.

Lol, you're right, and I agree completely from the hip-hop perspective. Throwing the guys from this era back into the 90s wouldn't even be fair.

thats why I say kendrick is overrated.

he's not a bad rapper and his music isn't terrible...it just isn't touching a lot of his peers cause they have real emotion and less contrived shyt they try to force down your throat.

A lot of other artists have touch on kendrick topics with way more style and grace in ways that make you enjoy the music rather than forcing you to furrow your brows and wade through unnecessarily dense content because you aren't a good enough writer to say more with less

But fact remaining...this ranking system is a step forward IMO

Didn't you have the system where we ranked who ran what year?that made more sense because it was less about people biases and opinions, and more about undeniable realities:blessed:

His ranking system I completely flawed because it only focuses on one aspect, which is the technicality aspect.

The best way is still ranking discography, overall impact you had as an emcee and the ammount of anticipation there was for you,as well as your albums, authenticity, street platinum sales, success, and what you put back into the game in terms of your family tree of proteges, and those you influenced:wow:

After a few calculations:ohhh:.

simple mathmatics tell me Pac and Cube still 1 and 2:wow:
