Yeah it's like he had a better feel for the music when he was drunk all the time. His bars are fire though.

Never have been a huge Royce fan. Last thing I remember listening to of his is either the 2nd or 3rd Bar Exam.
This album is just so-so to me. Probably will listen to once or twice more and then never again.

I have mixed feelings about the production. On one hand Preme has been stuck in the same style since Moment of Truth. He's working off a template. One which gets less and less of a return as the years go by. I used to seek out releases with Preme beats. But now, you can pretty much imagine what it's going to sound like and I can't really get excited about it anymore. So the fact they tried to do something different here, with using one artist for samples, is actually pretty interesting. Unfortunately, the artist they chose is some no-name Soundcloud producer. Some of the production is a welcome change of direction from Preme, but a lot of sounds a lot like Adrian Young, who I don't care for at all.
Royce just doesn't do it for me and he sounds worse/different that I remember. The hooks on this album are just terrible. That Dave East feature sounds like a Youtube fan-created mashup. I don't understand why that confederate-flag defending piece of dog shyt, Yelawolf, is on here. The album is too long.

If you don’t think Premier been stagnant for years I don’t know what you’re listening to. If you took a random unheard beat from Dre or The Alchemist most fans could nail down the year it was created within 2-3 years. With Preme if you did the same, anywhere from 1998-2017 is likely. That’s not to say what he does isn’t good for what it is, but he has for sure stagnated and doesn’t put as much of priority on evolving and changing his sound as some others do.
Off first listen it's got a few cool songs, but I'm not really feeling it.
Premo's beats on this were generic af. In some songs, the beat would start of good, but then made some weird as change that fukked up the whole song.

now i'm first to admit i don't fukk with Royce like that..haven't for years but i always give stuff a fair listen.
i thought maybe he'd win me over again with a new album with Premo.
didn't happen.....this is bad.
forgettable production, annoying delivery..hit and miss verses..Royce corny as hell but there is some great verses sprinkled in here.
the guest spots were the highlights.

there was a period when he got out of jail and through the first Bar Exam when his flow was phenomenal.
