First was objectively better, his emceeing was on some other shyt on their debut project. He sounded way more original, logical, better sense of songwriting, beat selection, feature guests.

This sophomore shyt was so half-assed and you can tell they rushed this with the features and singles too. NONE of them write or rap on Royce's level, so the chemistry is OFF. Plus, he got lazy as fukk with the lyricism this time around, a lot of simple and dumbed down ass bars. Singles were trash and didn't elevate anything like the way they did on the last album.

Why is he name dropping a lot like Game?

It's like him and Em forgot how to make great music or anything memorable as of late.

Looking forward to "Book of Ryan", but not a PRhyme 3. Also where the fukk are the beat switches Premo is known for? That was a huge letdown.......this is just came off as incomplete.

Off one listen this is pretty bad. Pales in comparison to the first one. Beats sound flat and I don’t like Royce’s style on this.

Album is pretty Like Warm... But "Black History" will be a top 10 track of 2018 by the end of the year. The album really fell flat after that joint...

The joint with Marci is cool too, even tho Royce almost ruins it with that wack was hook...

Chances are high I'll never give this a second listen. Bought the CD too :francis:
Last Pete Rock album I copped (Don't Smoke Rock) I didn't like at all. Now a Primo album I don't like :picard:

Yea, I was disappointed in this record. They were trying to really hype this one as a 2018 boom bap classic but they missed the mark with some flat songs all over this joint. Still love DJ Premier and I know he can still knock out bangers. Just not feeling this one. :ld:

Put this on yesterday and this morning at the gym, still holding up and like it a lot more than I did on the first listen. Royce has some great verses on here, and I think Rapsody got one of the best guest spots on here. Vinyl just came in too :blessed:

I BEEN KNOCKING THIS LATELY

LIKE MOST FOLKS SAID, DOPE PROJECT, NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST (WHICH WAS A NEAR CLASSIC), TOO MANY SUB-PAR FEATURES (YELAWOLF ON THE HARDEST BEAT SMH), AND HOOKS COULDA BEEN BETTER .. BUT STILL A GOOD ALBUM, NONETHELESS.

everyone keeps talking about black history being the stand out but that was the intro on the trust a shooter project like 2 yrs ago. i was a pretty big fan of that project but i cant be the only one who noticed this. yelawolf verse wasnt bad at all but krit phoned it in.

i didnt know so many werent feelin the 1st one. i thought it was one of royce's better projects. brought some excitement both their music needed.
this is really good too on first listen. better than book of ryan earlier this yr. i think the era single threw me off a bit but dope beat n rhymes throughout. this will be making my best of '18 list.
