Do you hear his shyt bumpin in the hood? Of course not, lol. My point is w7ho cares? Are "nikkas" bumpin Lupe in the hood? Royce? Monch? Black Thought? Doom? Los? Mos? What does that have to do with greatness? Jamar has a wigga mentality, probably cause he grew up in the burbs with white folk. People like him view the hood like this mythical magical place and get wet over street shyt, it's disgusting. Dudes in front of the bodega chillin dont have to listen to your music for you to be a phenomenal mc, even suggesting that is cornball shyt.

And another thing wiggas and suburb people like Jamar think is that everybody in the ghetto is a G or grimy or whatever.. some people in the hood actually like rappity rap and lyricism...and reading and going to work, etc...

The hood bumps blueface, Meg the Stallion, Glock9ine, Young Thug and other weirdo shyt. The hood is just as bad as these hipsters now

I have never lived in Orlando so I don’t know wtf you’re talking about.

Black people fukked with License to Ill though. They toured with Run DMC. Who didn’t like this?

You probably didn’t understand English yet and only spoke your native creole or Portuguese or some shyt then though.

Token legends

In 2019? Nope

In his prime? Absolutely.

Like Royce said, anyone who was into lyrics fukked with em.

Maybe in their house.

I've never heard someone playing Eminem in the hood in Cleveland...never once heard Eminem being played on 107.9...never once heard Em coming from anyone's car or in any of our hood bars/clubs/after hour spots.

In high school we bumped Em in the car but I a lot of my friend in high school were rappers and so were all fukked with lyrics. I can't speak for non-teenagers, but 99-02 Em got a lot of play in cars, house parties, everywhere. And everyone in The Booth knows I'm one of Em's biggest haters, and even though I think you're right after 2002, his first few albums definitely got a little bit of burn in the south. I can't speak for clubs though because we weren't old enough to get in.

I WILL say this though. I worked for Justus League/Little Brother/Wonder and when I first started hanging out with those guys at a college radio station in 2001 I noticed they never played Em on the air (9th DJ'd a show at the station), never played him in the car, or ever talked about his music beyond Phonte saying that he respected him as a lyricist after I asked him what he thought about Em.

He doesn’t/didn’t really make party/club/commercial music. So why would you expect to hear his music in those places?

You don’t/didn’t hear much Nas, Wu, etc in those places, yet it would be incorrect to claim “nobody in the hood listens to them”
