After two listens i'm going to give this 4 stars out of 5.
I like what Royce did with the production, i didnt know if he could pull it off but he did.
It might be my favourite album of his.

Someone explain why someone would like a song like Dope Man? Why would anyone listen to 2 or 3 minutes of an instrumental and Cedric the Entertainer talking just to get to the rapping part? Why not separate that?

His production is messy but it works overall. He has an ear but chooses to mix his drums loudly and awkwardly. I ain't mad though, this is a dope effort doing all the beats himself like this. It almost has an old school feel as he's switching up the beats often.

Overall, this rides a bit more than his last album. It's less personal and a bit more directed at society and upliftment. Lyrically this might be his best as well

Success Is Certain is dope, Street Hop and Rock City pt2 are great. Youre also leaving out the mixtapes (Bar Exams, Build&Destroy). Overall I think his ability to get personal and typically have decent production puts him in a higher class imo
