1st listen. I was really feeling his production at first. It was variety. But from "Tricked" to the end he it fell off. Maybe if it was shorter he could do a whole album.

Perfect comparison

I usually love all Royce loosies, features and freestyles. But I don't have a Royce album I can give more than 3 and a half mics :yeshrug:

I can't listen to a Royce album all the way thru
Thought I was the only one .....dude is nice but I don't care for his music if that makes sense

So far I like the direction Royce is going and his subject matter. But I think he should’ve had someone to help make it more concise which would’ve shortened the album. Explaining and defining allegory the ice cream man history skit wasn’t needed at all. There’s a bunch of moments like this.

I felt like dude kept questioning my intelligence or thought he was saying some thought provoking shyt every 5 minutes by saying “go google that” over and over the album is filled with those moments

He’s rapping his ass off which is expected.

I wanted to like it but it’s just underwhelming as fukk to me for some reason I dunno if it’s the production or what but I’m not feeling it

The only stand out track I’ll play again is Overcomer With West

I liked Benny & Conway verses too but the beats on them tracks just wasn’t to my taste, I probably won’t bump them again

Too many interludes & Skits too

i don't know if i'm in the minority, but as far as rappers producing their own shyt, i think i enjoy J.Cole's production more than Royce's, Royce's ain't that bad, but he gotta learn to do better drums, the drums sound like someone that just started on a cheap program. but as far as sample and chopping, he's slightly better than Cole on it. The best beat on the album is "Upside down" which he shines on those type of dark errie sample productions like "meeting of the bosses" or "beef" on death is certain. Sh*t that's the reason "Death is certain" is his classic album, the dark production itself :blessed:

I've been saying Royce is top 5 DOA since 04 when "Death is certain" came out, people looked at me like :gucci: just cuz he wasn't the hottest rapper during that time. Shows how sheep people are. I'm glad he's getting his flowers now though, after Bad Meets Evil the album, i felt he's been getting the respect he deserves and his career has been sky rocketing since. Wouldn't have imagined it back then and though when he burned the bridge initially with Em earlier in his career that it would be a matter of time before he just fizzles with lack of a big machine support. The opposite happened and that makes me proud that one of my fave rappers of all time is shining after all this time :blessed:
