He did though. He didn't say 'eminem sucks' but certainly the tone, his demeanor, and what he said falls under the category of 'dissing' as it certainly wasn't praising.

Saying 'Man Lebron's jumper is trash, the guy is trying too hard to please kids with this goofy shots that aren't doing shyt' isn't the same as 'Lebron needs to work on improving his jump shot and shot selection'

Im with Royce.

He said He didnt listen to the album though he only said something negative about one song

He's not wrong in that clip, I'll wait and see what else he said tho. Budden reminds me of professional athletes who retire, become pundits, and then say wild shyt about athletes who are still playing. It's like these guys think they HAVE to say ignorant shyt about players in order to

1) impress audiences
2) show they can be impartial
3) use their "insider information" to make the same type of stupid comments a layman fan can make

I thought Budden went too far...but I also believe Em's music is trash and someone needs to tell him. There's nothing to even be constructive about: his music is NOT good, and hasn't been for well over a decade.

Not listening to the album is negative in itself.

Isn't that throwing shade ?

He was/is on multiple hip hop platforms but won't listen to the album.

Onnce again joe didnt diss em all he said he didnt like one song he didnt call the album trash or nothing

He tried to put a partition between Em the individual and the record label like people understand label politics like that. Royce specifically said that the one problem he had with Joe's critique was him implying that there was an attempt to profit off of black pain. That's way beyond "I don't like this song" and despite his efforts it's going to be hard to separate Eminem the individual from how his records are marketed by Interscope.

And there are people that actually thought that Em was being exploitative, you call it how you see it. But acting like it's not a big deal for Joe to throw something like that out there is asinine.

your post is the definition of playing both sides of the fence. On the one hand you're saying that Em's music is trash and deserving of criticism and on the other you're saying that Joe went too far by saying Em's music is trash. Doesn't really make sense :dwillhuh:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
But people shyt on other people's projects all of the time, especially people that they have a relationship with. You've never heard any artist say that "such and such album is wack"? And Joe Budden, of all people, has been critical of everyone's projects.

If anything, that's what's wrong with any industry. It's not ok to tell someone their ish is wack and to step it up, based on stature?
yes i have.. and why do i remember those rare times, instead of the thousands of interviews, where they said nothing... cause it doesn't happen often. and when it does, it usually ends in beef

Saying that Untouchable was a ploy to exploit black pain is not really a musical critique. Royce specially said THAT was his real problem with Joe's comments. How ya'll keep reducing it to simply saying it was wack is beyond me.

Say what you want about Eminem's album, it's going to be around for a long time. The CIA is going to use that shyt for torture sessions the next 10 years. An interrogation instant classic :wow::smugdraper:

budden said he knows em personally, and knows hes genuine and wouldn't do that
so he thinks it was probably the label or his management
which isn't far fetched at all
