My bad, it was 5. I was off by 1. The Bulls won the quarterfinals against Miami in 2007, the quarterfinals against Indiana in 2011, the semis against Atlanta in 2011, the quarterfinals against Brooklyn in 2013, and the quarterfinals against I think Milwaukee in 2015.

Like I said, both teams have been bad overall for the last 21 years. The bulls had one great year where they lost in the eastern finals & another 2 ruined by injury. The Knicks had one Cinderella run to the finals, another year in the eastern finals, and one other in the semis.
