Ehh the equivalent woulda been DaRon Bland winnin DPOY, which I don’t think he deserved either
I see what youre trying to say but I don't really agree

The football equivalent to me is if Aaron Donald led the league in pressures, sacks and FF but his team went 2-15

He can't control his overall team's performance but he was the clear best defender far and away

The Cosmos
He has had better career than Ben
Ben Wallace:
Rudy Gobert:

3× NBA All-Star (2020–2022)
All-NBA Second Team (2017)
3× All-NBA Third Team (2019–2021)
4× NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2018, 2019, 2021, 2024)
6× NBA All-Defensive First Team (2017–2022)
NBA blocks leader (2017)
NBA rebounding leader (2022)

Ben Wallace has the slight edge. Clearly Gobert is a much better scorer. And Gobert has more time to add to his resume. But Ben Wallace has the edge defensively to me. Wallace averaged more than three blocks a game three times. Gobert hasn't done that once.

im Going with Rudy. that has to matter when splitting hairs. Rudy is serviceabl. also playing in this era should be commendable. U have to be a beast. I don’t think Ben would be as good in todays game dude would be unplayable way More times than Rudy
