niners got a rugby guy on their practice roster

I'd put him at LB. Don't trust his speed of ball handling skills

In rugby every position has to be able to catch, pass, and carry the ball, that shouldn't be too much of a question mark.

I'd love to see what kind of fake/trick punts they could pull with this dude, like maybe an option fake/bootleg coffin corner punt

The ball is so different tho. Would a smaller ball be easier to carry and catch??

I played rugby for a year- aint no joke:sadcam:

The tackling is MUCH more fundamental in rugby, because it HAS to be. If you tackle someone improperly in rugby, chances are youre going to injure yourself far more than the other guy. As a result its seen as something of a gentlemen's sport.

That being said, while rugby is a tough sport played, football is a VIOLENT sport. Basically this:

I would have no problem recruiting a rugby player on defense, because of their tackling and pursuit abilities. A rugby player on offense doe?:ld:

I have this chat with some of my rugby friends all of the time. Football is a collision sport. There's different angles to both sports. Defense is harder for them because it's reactionary. You could get away with it on the d line, but at this cat's size he would be a LB and that won't work. He'd be better off as an h-back or 3rd down back. Rugby players got great vision/awareness.

Yo, real talk, this MF is a straight up beast. Standing next to him made me look small :sadcam: I met dude a couple of times and his accent almost throws you off
apparently he bulked up to 305, i think he can make the squad next year, he was pretty decent during preseason this year. he needs more then a bull rush though

alright, i've followed jarrod's career in rugby. He's dpne pretty much everything in League that you could do

-Represented His state and Country
-Was this past season joint MVP

i respect dude for gong for his dreams and everything, but its gonna take him years to get adjusted, i remember years ago the first australian player (he was a punter) beign overwhelmed when he first got a playbook from a team
he didn't even announced what position he was gonna play at his press conference and with KR being less effective in todays game thats even a slimer chance of him making it

I dont think he's gonna Play any sort of defensive cause since he played wing/fullback back in rugby. Most likely hes gonna end up being a WR or maybe a RB

some of homies back in college and then again few years back tried to get me into rugby. for some reason I just can't.
it seems like a perfect combination because I love football and I love soccer, and I like grittiness.
but for some weird reason it just never clicked for me :manny: its like I can see the appeal but I just dont find much enjoyment (not entertainment, but enjoyment) in it.
:ld:
maybe Im at that age where its hard to get into a new sport you're not used to knowing well. its weird
