I don't believe Microsoft releases a weaker console than Sony after the Xbox One debacle. They want that bragging right and they'll pay what it takes to get it. Sony won't outspend Microsoft in an arms race. The Xbox One X exist because Microsoft wanted the bragging right.

if you've followed their moves they totally get it. they've built a stable of great studios and they've clearly moved past the games as a service only online multiplayer focus. gamepass and being the main reason anyone on any console can play online against each other on at least the most popular games. i don't know how anybody looks at all their recent moves and doesn't like it.

Bump. Specs in the OP was posted in December, MSFT announced 12TF in Feb and this morning just posted the full specs which was already leaked by this guy... who says PS5 is more powerful.

Dude posted in Dec 2019 the EXACT specs down to the frequency of the GPU which MSFT just so announced this morning. They can't really explain that one. This was way before MSFT even announced 12TFlops too last month so it wasn't a lucky guess.

GitHub showed 56 active CUs. People extrapolated and believed the chip to be 56/60 CU at 1.75 GHz, which gives you 12 TF.

He said 52CU at 1.82GHz on 12-14-19 and the final specs were 52CU at 1.825MHz.

Nobody ever leaked or posted these exact specs in December. There's no way someone just accurately guessed the CU, core clock AND the TF's right just randomly. We didn't even know if the Xbox was going to be 12TF because back in December people were doubting we'd even get double digit TF.

That was their FIRST public announcement.

These 12.1TF specs were leaked back in DECEMBER 14th.

There’s only a couple reasonable ways to get to 12TF especially after Microsoft showed the chip.

Anyone paying attention could have “predicted” those numbers.

A picture of a photoshopped PS4 controller from wherever it came from doesn't prove that the specs were wrong. You trying real hard to say that everybody was guessing 1.82 GHZ at 52Cu's for 12.1TF RDNA 2.0. GTFOH. Even Digital Foundry who are experts in this type of stuff didn't even guess 52CUs at 1.82 GHZ.

With caveats in place, the sparse data in the leak includes mention of 3584 shaders, which would translate to a frankly ginormous processor with 56 active compute units. There is no sign of clock-speeds in the data, but if we assume that 12 teraflops is the target, 1680MHz gives you 12TF on the nose, with a round 1700MHz delivering 12.2TF

MSFT comes out today and confirms the full specs and not only was the Github leak way off, the dude who posted months ago posted exactly the same specs. Your rebuttal?
