This means the Nintendo console will be as powerful as what????? a PS2???
its over for Nintendo as a major player in the console space. Just have to accept it for what it is at this point.
@teacher lost so fukking bad if that's all he still plays on these days. Waiting on the next Pokemon game like :flattoppika:
If PS5 costs 1200, another will rise. No one will buy a console at that price. Steam machines would be able to compete with that kinda fukkery. Sony learned after that PS3 launch debacle. These consoles are already competing wiith mobile/tablets now. That Gloom and Doom shyt is overblown.
I do think that Nintendo has tarnished the hell outta their image tho. It would take a lot to get that 3rd party support back at this point.
Since everyone is in the mood for believing in any old rumor, I might as well drop a few gems on y'all. I will not give a source you just gotta take my word for it : (whether you guys callor not is up to you)
Nintendo is working closely with indie developers for their new line of hardware (NX) and they're gonna let them experiment with their lesser IP's (for example F Zero, Punch out, Wave race etc. not necessarily those games mind you) so that software droughts will lessen.
The NX is not one thing, it's two, the handheld successor for the 3DS and the console. The "gimmick" that Nintendo is aiming for both of these is Unification between consoles, handheld and mobile, which is one of thereasons why Nintendo has acquired assistance from DeNA to help with their networking.
The NX handheld is scheduled to be released sometime next year, it will also be compatible with mobile devices and the Wii U. Expect the specs to be on par with the Vita.
The NX console will be released in 2017, it will also be compatible with the Wii U as well as the NX handheld and mobile devices. However (here's the part where some people here are gonna) while the actual specs have not been specified, Nintendo is not aiming high as they want the NX console to be as affordable as possible.
That's all the info that was given to me, you can choose to believe it or not if you wish.![]()
Yes. The video game industry is headed into some scary times and youd have to be blind not to see it.
The AAA market cannot keep going as is. Theres less and less games, studios being shut down constantly because just 1 flop can close its doors. DLC is becoming more and more obnoxious and over priced. Games are consistently being shipped broken so they can create cash income to finish games.
Studios have to rely more and more on remasters to create income.
I'll tell you this, if you don't like indies you're in for a rough time.
The budgets for games have become so bloated that the markets going to crash under its own weight.
Bigger budgets with failure for closure at a flop equals the painfully stale market we are in. No risks are being taken. Games all feel and look the same. The only creativity is in the indie space right now.
If games are supposed to work interchangeably between the two, then the specs would have to be pretty much the same, and if that's the case it makes more sense that there will be one device which you could use as both a handheld and a home console.Since everyone is in the mood for believing in any old rumor, I might as well drop a few gems on y'all.
