So now the excuse is poor Xbox they were never going to succeed because of M$... How about if they knew that then why not produce games with the studios they had instead of purchasing Activision and Zenimax. Also the Series X right now is technically 20% more powerful than the OG PS5. But the games have looked identical with the PS5 even exceeding it on some games. So raw power isn't the end all. I trust Sony to design just a better overall console experience

Said market has 1+billion potential customers. about 100 million of those customers are very much invested in a certain product.

Per CMA, 69% of users stated they bought a Playstation for its exclusives, second only to Call of Duty, hence the biggest differentiator. In the Circana US all time PS sales chart, only 1 out of 23 Call of Duty games that released on PS consoles, outsold Spider-Man. Miles Morales, The Last of Us and God of War outsold 18 Call of Duty games.

They also outsold Skyrim, Oblivion, Witcher 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, EA Sports College Football, NBA 2K, Madden and countless other huge selling multi-platform games. Bundled hardware sales are NOT included in these figures. First party exclusives make up less than 2% of PlayStation's overall library, so for them to make up 20% of the top 20 is impressive, and shows certain exclusives are in the mass market cultural zeitgeist of consumer interest. This highlights how users are not only buying PlayStation systems for certain exclusives, but that all platform sales charts don't tell us the full story.

When you go by individual sales on PlayStation only, some exclusives are outselling practically all of the best selling single player multi-platform games, and even Call of Duty, one of the biggest and best selling IP in history. A key issue here is that many users have a limited understanding of the market and sales dynamics, along with warped expectations. Outside of Nintendo platforms, few games, whether exclusive or multi-platform, hit crazy high attach ratio's. #PS5
