I do indeed like Rusev in the ring and wish he wasn't saddled with an 80's gimmick; I think a good way to introduce him would be to give him a Russian mobster-ish persona and have him be the hired goon/enforcer of a veteran wrestler.

Easy way to turn him face is to blame his actions on Lana's brainwashing. Dude isn't even Russian. He's Bulgarian, so that narrative makes sense.
