Don’t you get charged for leaving as well? For clarity, you are charged $9 every time you enter and re-enter that congestion zone, correct?

My daily commute from Newark hasn't really been packed trains. Seems normal to me, not sure about times around sporting events thoughAny tips for where to park if someone wants to drive from out of state go to Manhattan but avoid the tolls?
I parked in NJ before (Newark?), paid $20 to park then caught a NJ Transit train to MSG. That might be the move but I wonder how crowded it'll be now
im interested in ramifications business wise
shooting movies in the city gonna be kinda lame now

I stood on that corner for 15 mins with a chic filet breakfast biscuit and lemonade killing time before my Amtrak. every time the light turned green on 7th, 15 seconds later the intersection looked just like that. nothing compared to what it was beforeThat's a one in a million shot.
Depends on who you are.So is this good or bad for the city?
your leaving out the fact that many of those who don't pay the toll are going to use the MTA so as opposed to paying 0 to get bellow 60th before their now paying $6 RT.The two main stated goals of CP are contradictory:
1. Break up gridlock by getting fewer vehicles in lower Manhattan/clean up the environment
AND
2. Generate money from cars paying the toll (the strong implication that auto traffic will remain high enough to generate alot of revenue).
Those two points contradict each other.
Which means that pro congestion pricing people get to claim victory regardless of the outcome. It's a lowkey brilliant way to "win".
I see people speaking about this as if it's a given that there will be a 1-to-1 shift from driving to riding transit. I appreciate that you used the word some, but I'm very, very suspicious that very many of those drivers will do that. I think with flex time and WFH, maybe the majority of those people will just stay home. We'll see once the definitive reports and studies on this come out later, but that's my guess.your leaving out the fact that many of those who don't pay the toll are going to use the MTA so as opposed to paying 0 to get bellow 60th before their now paying $6 RT.
I don't think the percentage of people that have these options is as high as you may think. All of the city jobs have moved back to 5 days x week in office. Corp America has made a major push to end WFH. As a NYC resident, about out of 10 of my peers in various fields are back to 5 days in the office. and if you don't have to go into the office(like myself) your not going in just becauseI think with flex time and WFH, maybe the majority of those people will just stay home.

Same thing am wondering
half these people already paying $15+ to cross a bridge or tunnel from out of state. thats damn near $500 a month now + parking +gas. there's a tipping point where it doesn't make sense to pay for the majority. This?
I don't get how 9$ can empty a street.
$9 dollars did this?![]()
Yall be thinking its cap when I talk about the bum ass boroughs, now yall seeing it in real time.
