I made a thread 5 years ago that Russ was just stat-padding to triple doubles and it was all bs (with receipts) and the Coliseum couldn't handle it and said I was just hating.

Like I been saying, y'all always come around to my view sooner or later. :wow:

Or maybe nobody knew what you were saying because nobody reads your long ass post. :stopitslime:

They used to mean something though. Or at the very least, they didnt cost the team games.

So you do believe in stat padding? :jbhmm:

I always have, and I've pointed out numerous times that many players stat-pad. Stat-padding is whenever a player, instead of making the best play possible for his team, forces a play in order to increase his stats. I've given dozens of examples from NBA history, here is just one:

Sun Sentinel

During breaks in games, Jordan has been wandering over to the scorer`s table to get updates on how many rebounds, assists and points he needs to fill his three double-figure quotas.

"The guys at the scorer`s desk let me know what I need," he said. "They tell me, `You need three assists; you need two rebounds."

Jordan also has been double-checking the figures with Chicago assistants.

"They keep me in tune," he said. "They keep reminding me when I come back to the huddle, how much I need."

Last Sunday, at home against New Jersey, the 10th assist was Jordan`s final goal.

"I knew I had nine assists," he said, "and I looked at (forward) Brad (Sellers), and said, `Brad, can I count on you for my 10th?` And he said, `yeah` and hit a jumper from the baseline."

For Jordan, the triple-double has eclipsed high-scoring games as the goal.

"I think those 63-point games are gone," he said. "I've had a good time scoring 60-something points and 50-something points, but it's a lot of work."

The NBA / Sam McManis : Pitino Finds Slumping Knicks Are a Team in Turmoil as Players Bicker

Since switching to point guard for the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan has become statistic conscious. He has started checking with statisticians to see how close he is to a triple-double. He had a string of seven consecutive triple-doubles broken Friday night.

“The guys at the scorer’s desk let me know what I need,” Jordan said.

So, too, do the Bulls’ assistant coaches.

“They keep reminding me when I get back to the huddle,” Jordan said. “They say, ‘You need three more of this. You need four more of that.’ ”

Jordan is trying to win over voters for the league’s most valuable player award.

“If the way I’m playing now doesn’t convince them I’m a complete player, then I guess nothing will,” Jordan said.

Nah, you're looking at it the wrong way. If you want to see the effect that Westbrook's stat-padding has on the game, you have to look at every game he tries to stat-pad, not just the times where he succeeded. Otherwise you ignore that for every successful triple-double there were just as many games where he tried to stat-pad and lost. Triple-doubles are most likely when your teammates make a lot of shots (assists) and your opponent misses a lot of shots (rebounds). Since Russ was trying to stat-pad a triple-double in EVERY game, you can't look at his record just in the triple-doubles as the measure of his play. It's more that a successful triple-double was a measure of how well his teammates in that game were happening to make shots and play defense.

Think of it like a video game. Imagine that you had a teammate whose technique was to charge the enemy base melee-style every single time. You tell him, "Going melee is detrimental to the team", but he says, "Nah, look, every time I destroy the enemy base we win!" Then you ask, "But what about all the times you tried and lost?"

Those are Russ's triple-doubles, you have to look at all the times he was forcing assists and not playing defense to chase rebounds, only his teammates didn't make the shots to give him assists because the shots were forced and he didn't get the rebounds because his shytty defense was contributing to the opponent making their shots.

Idk Russ, maybe it’s your low basketball IQ, your straight garbage jumpshot, or the many turnovers. This man really think he was doing something with those freebound ass triple doubles:russ:

This nikka live in another world, ol Lloyd in Space ass nikka:russ:

Cuh mad because Vogel ain't wanna pop bottles with him. :mjlol:

“I’ve never had issues with any coaches,” Westbrook said, sharing a story of how he sent Frank Vogel and his wife a bottle of champagne for their anniversary. “I’m not sure what his issue was with me... That’s something that he has to answer.”

Ridiculous.

Especially hows it come out that the rest of the Lakers management wanted Vogel to bring russ off the bench and he refused because he knew Russ ego would explode. He just kept hoping Russ would come around.

Dude hasn't said a bad word about him and you can clearly tell he didn't want him on his team after preseason.
