This is about money.
Of course it is and other QBs and players should be taking note of it as well. Get as much as you can upfront and don't depend on the guaranteed for injury portion because teams will bench you to prevent it from happening.

Even the Browns would potentially be doing the same thing to Watson this season if he was out there stinking it up and they had the chance to do it as well.

They're back ups in injury situations, no one in the nfl is starting them bums training camp. Russell wilson isn't starting for 10-15 teams
He'd start for the Falcons, Pats, Commanders, Raiders, Titans, Saints, Bears and Giants easily. Probably better than what the Cardinals and Panthers have but those teams are invested in Kyler and Bryce.

He's not better than Kyler you're on crack
He's about even with Carr right now
Those other teams he's better than what's there but who the hell is paying Russ that salary in 2025? He's gonna have to take a massive pay cut

Denver isn't releasing him or trading him in 2024. $85M dead cap :picard:

And 2025 its $49.6M dead cap which would be a cap savings since he's scheduled to count $55M. That would be a bit more tolerable.

The Packers have Aaron Rodgers counting $40M on the cap this year... he was scheduled to only count $31M in 2023. But since GB took the entire hit in 2023, they don't have to worry about it moving forward.

I don't watch much football these days. It just seems like they use him as a scapegoat. :hubie:

Russ didn't give up 70 points to the Dolphins but he's also not going to win you any games. They have bigger issues, but Russ isn't getting any younger. If they're willing to take that dead cap hit Denver's going to cut him and start over. I think it's silly but it is what it is.

Can't beat the Pats. Might as well. Dark days ahead

If they cut him they're gonna be Carolina bad for like 3 years. Even if you get a good rookie QB you got like 40M - 50M in dead cap you can't access for two consecutive years. Gonna be filling out your roster with practice squad guys :heh:

I'd be irate if I was a Denver fan

Tyrod Taylor, Joe Flacco, Jacoby Brissett, Mitchell Trubisky all start games in the NFL this year. Russ is better than all of them.
Debatable on all of those guys except Trubisky. Who isn't even a practice squad caliber QB imo. I still can't figure out how Trubisky and Mason Rudolph are still in the NFL other than being white boys :heh:

Russ may be done, but I dont like the trying to knock his career cause things didnt work in Denver.

Same happened to McNabb when he left Eagles. He went from a fringe HOF to no shot because he played bad his last 2 years. Bullshyt.
Relax Russ is a HOF. I don't think anyone believes otherwise
