Russ will get a chance somewhere next season if/when he is released. It's not that many competent QB's in the league so a team will talk themselves into thinking they can get something out of him.
Majority of people in the comments on sports sites are calling out Sean Payton. Good.Weakest player’s union
Sean Payton’s media buddies + NFL media will back the Broncos
I think two things can be true :Russ will get a chance somewhere next season if/when he is released. It's not that many competent QB's in the league so a team will talk themselves into thinking they can get something out of him.
I dont agree these are bad wrs, I however believe russ is a bad qb. Russ doesn't have the ability to get them the ball. Juedy is often open on all 22 russ doesn't look his way considering his routes are often middle of the field.
Offense is checkdowns screens and the occasional sutton jumpball
The ideal spot for him I gotta say is Steelers

People see this has nothing to do with football or play on the field. It's purely driven by the contract/injury clause and no matter how much the media tries to complain about Russ leaking shyt...the truth is the truth. I am NOT a Russ fan at all but he's clearly not the issue here. And like I said, if Denver wanted to bench that's fine. But that should have been discussed and decided for the first time THIS week. Not multiple weeks ago when the team was contending for a playoff spot.Majority of people in the comments on sports sites are calling out Sean Payton. Good.
Hell the Cowboys might be up soon if they flame out again. This is highly likely to come back and bite Sean Payton and the Broncos organization in the azz.
Russ has lost a few steps, but he’s still an above average quarterback in my opinion. He’s definitely overpaid at this point in his career, but the Broncos are going to be still on the hook to pay him and go into next year and the next with a bunch of dead money on their cap which will prohibit the caliber guy they can get.
Sean Payton wants to pick his own guy, but that’s a dangerous game and it’s usually no more than 3-4 franchise hall of fame level guys in the league at any given time that are QB1’s.
Broncos going to mess around and be stuck with some Bailey Zappe, Zack Wilson, or maybe a Jacoby Brissett type guy and that’s if they’re lucky if they don’t strike paydirt in the draft.
Payton got lucky in New Orleans with Brees and a GM in Loomis that was a yes man to him and got a Super Bowl out of it and probably had a good chance at another if not for that missed PI call in the 2018 NFC championship game, but he’s in a totally different situation in Denver. He probably should have held out for that Chargers or Packers gig. We’ll see how this plays out, I could be totally wrong.
told my mans this:I think two things can be true :
1) Russ was never gonna be exactly what Payton wants or live up to the trade/contract in Denver
2) He would be a godsend for a handful of teams like Atlanta or Pittsburgh who have tons of talent rotting on offense right now
