Let me ask ya'll something. I was debating with someone about the Vikings being a favorite to sign Russ. I said I would rather keep Cousins, start Hall or draft a QB. The point I'm trying to make is I said Russ isn't gonna come cheap if he is released. I think he's gonna be more expensive than Cousins. Especially with Cousins coming off this injury. Who do you guys see costing more in FA? Cousins or Russ.

One superbowl 15 years ago and whatelse? And Bress last two years in SD he went 11-4 and 9 and 7, and was a pro bowler. Stop acting like Payton turned Trevor Simien into Dan Marino or some shyt.

How many times did Brees make the playoffs in SD? His last year, Chargers finished 3rd in the AFC West, and Brees had 24 tds, 15 ints.. Thats 53 interceptions over 4 seasons, with one playoff year. Payton turned him into a super bowl qb, throwing 5,000yds, 45 tds, type seasons.

Payton won 1 super bowl, but he took over a bottom feeder. A SB, 7 division titles, 9 postseasons, 3 NFC championship appearances. Brees and Saints never seen anything close to that type of success without Sean Payton

Now remember this.. The Broncos have been a bottom feeder, finishing in last place, the last 7 years.. Watch what hiring Sean Payton does for them. In year 1 they already went on 7 game winning streak, knocking off good teams. Watch how the Broncos magically rise out that basement, and become a threat in the AFC

I dont think Carr had any guaranteed money left on his contract. They could cut him and not owe him any money because all the guranteed money was in the first 2 years or something. If Carr wouldve gotten injured in those last two games, his injury gurantee wouldve kicked in.

With russell, I think he still has regular guaranteed money left for at least one year, plus other money would be guranteed if he would get injured.

I expect something similar to happen with Danny Dimes and the giants at the end of next year as well. They can cut him after next season, so will sit him by the end of iit.

Edit: Russell's contract. It seems russells situation is kinda unique in that he has yet to play under the new 5 year contract yet.

Within his five-year, $242.6 million contract he signed with the Broncos in 2022, Wilson is guaranteed $39 million in 2024. However, if he were unable to pass a physical on the fifth day of the new league year this coming March, he would be owed another $37 million. That is what the Broncos are allegedly trying to avoid paying, and keeping Wilson off the field and out of harm's way over the next two weeks is the best way to ensure he passes that physical.

It should also be noted that he originally did them the solid in renegotiating his contract to help bring in Adams, which they eventually used against him.

It's why Russ was smart in telling them he's good on pushing back those guarantees because all it would have done is made it easier for them to bench him next season.

Not true. Any new money is subtracted by what Denver owes. Can’t double dip.
