Yooooo!!! I gotta watch this again now that I know what to look for :mindblown: I just realized Delroy Lindo's character is the griot. He shared his own insane story on the way to the juke joint, groomed the kid sammy on stage etiquette, and even sacrificed his life so he could escape. He couldn't let go of the guitar at the end cause NOW he is the griot. it looked like he was driving off outta some hard-headed love of the blues, but he was really driving INTO the responsibility bestowed upon him now. apparently i missed to extra scenes during the credits? :francis: I wish they'd stop doing that shyt. But i wouldnt be surprised of the scenes speak to that idea

So, any explanation why they're nicknmed smoke and stack?
Smoke liked cigs and Stack likes cash.

MBJ wasn't even the main character on the film. So emphasis on MBJ characters was not gonna happen . Not from that hack Coogler. Just the big name they could attached to the film

I always said the way Wolf sang this song sounded like he was trying to wake the dead. :wow:

That said, this was a BEAUTIFUL movie. The best I've seen all year so far. The music was incredible. The whole thing was on point. :wow:

An all black film not on some c00nery tip with a Black cast and pretty profitable to boot still isn't good enough. Let's enjoy the win...
It wasnt a win. It made Black southerners look stupid.

The entire idea no one other than Annie knew about Vampires in the Delta when NO is literally right there..

Plus it's the Delta and Devil and Blues....not Delta, blues and Vampires.

I feel like black folk have accepted mediocrity for so long, y'all don't know what great quality is when you see it

Damn just clicked that we should’ve known he didn’t off his brother cause he locked the slaughterhouse :leon: and kept them inside away from the sun

I was thinking he was gonna be in there and shoot from the inside

Why would they have showed up to fight a dozen vampires when they didn't even want to fight one after sundown :hubie:

But then there's no reason to include them at all. From his intro, you knew things were kinda off about Remmick, and he was already in the house when they arrived for 3 lines. And then Hubby was already bit when she returned to the room. It's not like they returned to warn folks, or give any sort of insight, or assistance so...that was a plot point not needed at all.

I would have included them at the end only cause the end result wasn't satisfying as it could be. However, story wise it made sense why they bailed.

However, nah bruh that was massive world building having that in there. It also informs how vulnerable that character can be.

Its actually old school story telling as well with your villain getting chased by someone else more skilled/prepared to deal with them. Only for the villain to drop in on our heroes who are not as prepared.

The most cinematic scene in the movie was the spirits of Africans and Africans in America, past present and future, in spiritual trance. That scene was an insult to the Hidden History Museum and Microphone Check :usure:

Tariq is an idiot but he ain't stupid. Coogler is well liked so the typical "FBA" war campaign won't be received well.
