It's crazy how MBJ and Chalomet were initially considered non factors this season but now they've pretty much swept up every major critic award. I don't know how the industry awards are gonna go though but it could be between Michael and Timothy this year for best actor

Overall Sinners will dominate the awards this season but it's gonna be hard for it to overtake One Battle after Another for best Picture and Directors. I can happen though

To be competitive for an Oscar win MJB HAS to take both the Golden Globe and SAG awards. He won’t win BAFTA because they’ll usually award a rodent over a black actor so that will be Chalomet’s but if he swipes the SAG from MJB its pretty much over for his Oscar chances.

Coogler is looking like his only individual honor will be Original Screenplay. PTA is 100% taking Director & Picture UNLESS Sinners is able to take one of the two at the Golden Globes (doubtful)

Movie was cool. Black art is always seen from a hypercritical lens - even, and sometimes especially from other black folk

In any case, I enjoyed myself

Chinese lady inviting them in a fit of hysteria was annoying thouhg

You could have a black movie where it's two brothers fixing cars and running a janky ass shop and people would be talking about how it's a metaphor for cain and able or some shyt.
