Sidenote, who yall think was right or who’s side was yall on regarding the “business” that night though?

Smoke or Stack?

Remember one bro wanted to charge everyone full price on all drinks and food.

The other was like “na it’s opening night, let the people pay what they can pay“
If it was a one off, cash in full. If they're trying to earn goodwill and come back in the future, like the joint that Delta Slim was talking about, take what you can this time.

Let them pay then slowly transition away atleast. They only had enough supplies for like 2 months I thought. They were gonna have to either hit a profit or a lick. Which is what both they girls was saying they were gonna do :russ:

Great movie.

This is a cinema movie.

I dont think this translates outside of a movie theatre as well as it will inside it.

The 70mm switches were nice.

Really well put together movie. The slow build to the 2nd half was impressive.

Soundtrack is off the chain.

Respect to MBJ. He is on a roll right now. Great acting.

This film reminds me of when Spielberg did jaws. Just something different to what you always see.

I can see both sides.

Niccas ain't runnin' a charity here and we runnin' outta money payin' all dese mfs for opening night (signs, security, music etc), and what we gonna do for inventory when da shyt we took out in Chi town run out? How we gonna KEEP payin' for music, etc? We're gonna need real money to replace that or put ourselves at risk again & go get our Project Pat on again & kick a door.

But, chances are, Club Juke wasn't long for the world anyway, whether its mfs wantin' the nicca discount or the Klan fukkin' wit us, so maybe you just house a place of reprieve for a little while where people can come cut loose, chill, dream, drink, and spit in each other's mouths in peace :troll:

I lean toward da business side tho. Ain't no Wallo shyt ova here. #SupportBlackOwned :myman:

First hit is free. Run a special for the night, where you get a free drink and then it’s full price after that. I’m somewhere in the middle.

I know people like to harp on MBJ but dude has unreal screen presence in this flick.

And I agree this movie (like most movies) will not hit the same at home. However visually it's gonna look great still.

And Delroy Lindo deserves some recognition. Too bad this flick came out so early but I suspect some nominations come it's way.
